"Who was that guy?" I asked Chiara backstage as I put my regular clothes back on.
Domenico's secret investor had been incredibly handsome, probably in his mid- to late-thirties. He had dark eyes that sucked you in and a chiseled jaw that belonged on movie posters. I'd been around enough powerful men in my life to recognize one, so I knew he was someone, but he'd dressed in jeans and an expensive-looking shirt, hardly serious business attire. At least he wasn't in the mafia. No self-respecting mobster would be seen in anything less than a suit in public.
I bet he was an actor or film producer. A famous chef.
"I don't know," Chiara answered. "Domenico keeps the names of his investors very private. You must've made an impression, though. I don't recall any model being called back for a personal interview before."
