Kael's brows twitched, but he kept a calm expression. Not everything was going to go his way, he had to keep it at the back of his mind.
Chloe was also surprised, she hadn't expected Adolf to reject it so quickly, did he think Kael was playing games?

Yes, he feared death, but what if Kael ordered him to kill himself at some point in the future, would he be able to disobey?
