Chapter 165 - CHAPTER 164

KENAN LEANED BACK IN HIS CHAIR, looking very discouraged. Floyd Kenagan was sweating profusely and clenching his fists so hard that he was shaking. Tommy sat watching all this, hungry but not brave enough to continue his meal.

— Enough! — Kenan shouted, standing up and walking towards the door.

Those in front got out of the way and those behind followed.

— I can't accept this situation with my hands tied! I won't be defeated by an unknown madman! Not when everything is so advanced!

—This is not some unknown madman, Mr. President, Gregory Evans said as he entered the room.

— Greg... I'm glad you're here, did you manage to find out anything?

— Yes sir.

And Greg told almost everything he and Martin had discovered, because Greg was listening in real time to Martin's entire conversation with Robert Payne, but he left some points open.

— TOMORROW, AS SOON AS THE DECISION is made by the Council, and it will be, I want all troops ready to embark and occupy! I want the NSA to go full steam ahead with surveillance on these bastards. I want them to find them and put an end to this once and for all!!!

Tommy just watched the President leave the room followed by all those people, stunned, undecided whether to continue his meal. Even with all that organization, that emanating power that he felt in the White House, he saw how the most perfect systems can go through moments of fragility and immediate risks.

Faced with that embarrassing situation, people wondered about the President's proposal.

Could that invitation received from someone so important be a real life opportunity for him and his wife?

Greg snapped him out of his reverie:— You'll think better on a full stomach, you know?Tommy smiled:— It's not every day that you get to have lunch with the most powerful man in the world, you need to take advantage of these opportunities more, Tommy.— Why didn't you talk about...—Would you change anything?— I don't think so... it's just...— Tommy, there is no difference between the President and the Capretti family, they are powerful men who defend their points of view, think of it as an opportunity to defend someone with the correct point of view. That was the question... who was right in a war?
