Chapter 257 - Typemoon: Starting Out as the Lion King's Personal Knight [257]

Who is Lev Lainur?

Lev Lainur was once a technician at Chaldea, a magus who created the Near-Future Observation Lens.

His lineage has been passed down through a magical family, and within him resides the 64th Demon Pillar of Solomon's 72 Demon Pillars—Flauros.

He was also a subordinate of Solomon, the one who scattered the Holy Grails across the Singularities, claiming to be the person responsible for handling humanity in the year 2015.

Alaric was well aware of the man standing before him—

What left the deepest impression on Alaric was how Lev Lainur planted bombs in the underground control room of Chaldea, killing most of its staff.

47 Masters were left in a near-death state, and Olga Marie, who was at the center of the explosion, had her body destroyed. However, by a twist of fate, her soul was transferred into Singularity F through a Spiritron Transfer.

Lev Lainur's identity needed no further explanation, but what truly puzzled Alaric was—

Why had he encountered Lev Lainur now?

Carrying this confusion, Alaric finally noticed the change in his surroundings.

He was no longer in the Underworld of Mesopotamia—that quiet, distant world was now gone.

What he now saw was—

A world vast like the starry sky…

A boundless expanse, dotted with countless stars forming flowing rivers of light, as if he were standing within the vast cosmos itself.

An overwhelming sense of emptiness pressed upon him.

The very concept of the world seemed to be drifting away from him.

On the silent ground, twisted tendrils-like structures sprawled, reaching toward something at the very end of the space.

At that distant end, a dazzling light wheel rotated slowly.

Within the luminous wheel, a hollow darkness loomed, as if it could swallow the entire world into oblivion.

It was a brilliance so radiant that even the Milky Way could not outshine it—like the apex of the stars.

"Holy hell…"

At the very moment, Alaric laid eyes on that brilliance, he felt his heart tremble.

It was fleeting—so brief that he couldn't even distinguish if it was an illusion.

Taking a deep breath, Alaric quickly accepted the reality—he had shifted coordinates.

It was certain—he had left the Mesopotamian world—the Seventh Singularity.

And now, he had arrived at—

"Welcome to the Temple of Time, Knight. We've been watching you for a long time."

Lev Lainur seemed to understand exactly what was going through Alaric's mind.

Grinning with his shark-like teeth, he said, "It seems you're adapting quite well."

Alaric got up from the ground, rolling his neck. Instead of panicking, he smiled naturally.

"The Temple of Time… is this a Reality Marble?"

There were supposedly only seven Singularities—so now that human history had been incinerated, where exactly was this Temple of Time located?

Was it something similar to Chaldea—an anomaly detached from time?

"This place is the symbol of our great undertaking—a sanctuary beyond time itself."

Lev Lainur tapped his cane against the ground and turned away.

"As for how you got here…"

"The Holy Grail, right? You used the Holy Grail as a medium to forcibly pull me here."

Alari followed Lev Lainur, scanning his surroundings. Aside from the two of them, there seemed to be no other lifeforms present.

Yet, within those countless tendrils crawling across the barren land, he could sense an overwhelming vitality.

A vitality beyond comprehension.

These tendrils were not mere objects—they were the extensions of a living being.

If it were just an extension, that would be one thing.

But Alaric also detected a spiritual signature similar to Tiamat within this space—

The presence of Humanity's Evil—a Beast.

Realizing this, Alari chose not to ask outright. Instead, he continued the conversation:

"If you can accomplish this using the Holy Grail… then you must have noticed it back in the Sixth Singularity."

If Lev Lainur and the Demon Pillars could use the Holy Grail in such a manner, then before Alaric severed the connection of the Sixth Singularity's Grail, they must have been watching his every move.

"Indeed, Knight. The moment you claimed the Holy Grail we placed in each Singularity, we became aware of you."

Lev Lainur, walking ahead, gazed at the distant rotating light wheel.

"The world is not lacking in possibilities. But we are omniscient and omnipotent—past and future alike are within our grasp.

The suffering of life… what an ugly thing."

"So your grand ambition… is merely to incinerate Human Order?"

As Alaric expanded his senses, he felt the grand existence hidden within this Temple of Time.

Solomon's 72 Demon Pillars had constructed this superior magical barrier, transcending time itself.

Not only that—Alaric now understood the true identity of the being at the end of this space.

It was a genuine Beast.

Tiamat was a disaster beast embodying the principle of return.

Then this Beast within the Temple of Time—

Could it be Solomon himself?

"Incinerating Human Order is merely a means to gather sufficient fuel—to reach a brand-new future."

Lev Lainur led Alaric to a door and remarked:

"This is simply the prerequisite for us to reset everything. Humanity cannot be saved. Corruption and filth are embedded in its very foundation. As long as life exists, this flaw can never be corrected.

So we chose to start over—to remake everything anew.

Not from history.

Not from the ecosystem.

Not from the continents.

Not from time.

But from nothing.

We have devised a plan to recreate this planet from its very beginning.

And for that, we need a vast amount of resources—fuel."

"Burning human history to obtain resources… to carry out your grand undertaking?"

Alaric continued, "Those radiant light wheels spanning across history… they're not just symbols of your work. They're your tickets to the beginning."

"Precisely!" Lev Lainur bared his teeth in a grin.

"To put it simply, we require the heat generated by every life on this planet to sustain our beginning!

Recycling it once wouldn't be enough. We must traverse from the future back to the past, collecting it all.

One second, one minute, one hour, one day, one month, one year—retrieving the heat generated across all time.

By doing so, we will achieve our goal: harvesting approximately 3,000 years' worth of this planet's greatest energy potential!"

At this, Alaric finally understood the true ambition of King Solomon and the 72 Demon Pillars.

To rewind the planet to its very beginning—to recreate an entire celestial body—to give birth to an entirely new form of life.

What unbelievable resolve and execution.

Even just imagining it filled Alaric with profound shock.

What kind of future would that be?

Just then—

One of the 72 Demon Pillars, Flauros, extended his hand toward Alaric.

"Join us in our grand endeavor, last human from the other side."

PS: "Become a demon, Kyoju- Ahem, I mean Alaric!"
