Chapter 145 - Demon King True face

The throne room lay in ruin — marble cracked, statues toppled, the lingering scent of burnt mana hanging thick in the air. Crimson mist still curled from Demon King Blade's outstretched sword as he stood alone atop the wreckage of his fallen challengers.

His face, blood-smeared but grinning, filled the live feed screens of millions watching across the world.

Mocking. Ruthless. Untouched in spirit, if not in flesh.

Blade lifted his weapon high, violet energy spiraling up its length as he spoke — his voice broadcast through the arena system to every corner of the server:

"I told you… humans are fragile."

A second of silence.

Then, like a dam breaking, the world chat erupted.

[World Chat]

BloodOath: "FUCK YOU DEMON!!"

HealerMom77: "Coward demon bastard!! Fight me 1v1!!"

Sunspear: "Damn it — Michel almost had him!! Did you see that crit!?"

GM_Zero: "3%… 3%!!"

NightWolf: "This isn't over!! EVERYONE GEAR UP!!"

GodHand: "What's the respawn timer!? Tell me now!!"

AshenSky: "New raid party forming!! Who's still standing!?"

A hundred messages a second blazed past the screen — outrage, defiance, disbelief.

And through it all, Blade's calm, taunting grin remained on the throne room stream.

He enjoyed it.

The commentators on the official stream scrambled to keep up.

"Ladies and gentlemen — it's absolute chaos in world chat right now! The top rankers fell, but the world… the world isn't done yet!"

"Look at that smirk! That arrogant bastard!"

But in between that a shocking news caused everyone to pause.

"Demon King is actually a Player not an NPC"

" WHAT THE FUCK!!" everyone reaction hearing that as Commentators, explained now the SA employee will explain the situation to them.

Even the Rankers who participated in the raid now re-spawned in the Spectators area looked dumbfounded by the sudden news of Demon King being a Player not an Npc.

" is he Kraugel?" someone said as the Best Player name was spoken.

" No, I have fought him, not even one of the skills of Demon king player matched his" Someone added as others began to speculate too if its actually an hidden ranker that Satisfy contacted to bring him in this National Competition.

The aftermath of the throne room massacre hung heavy in the air.

The crimson mist faded. The lifeless bodies of the server's mightiest heroes sprawled at the Demon King's feet, their weapons broken, their buffs expired.

Blade's face — bloodied, smug — filled every broadcast.

And then the official stream cut to the SA Group studio, a pristine office with sleek monitors and flustered moderators staring at their screens.

The lead community admin, a sharp-eyed woman named Kanna, adjusted her headset and addressed the audience.

"Alright, everyone — event's officially concluded… and, as promised, we have an announcement to make regarding the Demon King."

The world chat ignited like wildfire.

[World Chat]

SaintFlare: "TELL US WHO HE IS!!!"

NightWolf: "I KNEW IT WAS A PLAYER!!"

AshenSky: "How the hell is he that strong!? Was he buffed!?"

Kanna glanced at a data tablet, sighed, and then nodded.

"It's confirmed. The Demon King… wasn't an NPC. He's a player. A contracted player-assigned role within the server's world lore — but unlike normal event bosses, he retained his personal account control and progression. His stats, abilities, and character class were real — built from scratch within the system's legal parameters."

The studio commentator gasped.

"You mean he wasn't boosted!? No modifiers!?"

Kanna smiled tiredly.

"Not in the way you think. He earned every point, every skill. He wasn't given stats to be the Demon King — he became the Demon King because no one else could."

" His health increased for every 10 minutes other rankers delayed, so his health was given modifier aside from it nothing else"

The world chat went absolutely ballistic.

[World Chat]

GodHand: "HOW DO YOU EVEN REACH A LEVEL LIKE THAT!?"

FallenValkyrie: "WAIT. THEN WHAT ABOUT THE HEAVENLY KINGS!? ARE THEY PLAYERS TOO!?"

Sunspear: "EXPLAIN!! HOW DID HE GET THOSE SKILLS!!"

HealerMom77: "WAS HE USING SECRET CLASSES OR UNRELEASED ITEMS!?"

Another SA staffer cut in.

**"We'll be hosting a live post-event interview with the Demon King — real identity revealed — in thirty minutes."

A system-wide notification appeared over every player's screen.

The reaction was immediate.

[World Chat]

BloodOath: "HOW DO I BECOME A BOSS CHARACTER!?"

NightWolf: "ASK HIM WHAT CLASS HE USED! AND IF HE HAD SECRET QUESTS!!"

SaintFlare: "DID HE GET A GM BOOST OR IS THIS RAW PLAYER SKILL!?"

AshenSky: "AND WHAT ABOUT THE HEAVENLY KINGS!? WERE THEY RANDOM NPCS OR HIS GUILDMATES!?"

The commentator in the studio wiped sweat from his brow.

"I… I can't believe this. The most broken, terrifying player on the server's been hiding in plain sight, running an event character. And no one suspected a thing…"

Blade's grinning face flickered back on screen one last time before the feed cut.

"See you soon, world."

The countdown timer to the live interview appeared.

00:29:59

And the world chat never stopped moving.

Everyone was ready to meet the legend hiding behind the crown.

The interview venue was set inside the server's grand Coliseum instance — a special stage-space used only for world events and developer announcements.

Vast stone seats formed a wide circle, the center transformed into an illuminated platform surrounded by floating crystal monitors. The SA Group's banner hung overhead, pulsing with mana-infused light.

Thousands of avatars gathered in the audience stands — some wearing their battle-scarred gear from the Demon King raid, others hastily dressed in casual skins. Everyone was here for one reason.

A massive countdown floated in the sky: 00:00:10… 9… 8…

At the center of the stage sat a simple chair, a single tall figure waiting for the countdown to end.

Blade.

But not the blood-soaked Demon King from the throne room.

He appeared now in a long, dark tailored coat edged in violet rune-thread, his face obscured by a sleek black oni mask. Crimson eyes glowed from behind it — unmistakable, even now. The runes on his collar shimmered faintly, bearing the same mark as the Demon King's crest.

Next to him stood a representative from the SA Group — a woman in official moderator robes, her avatar radiating the pale blue glow of an admin-class player. She held a scroll in one hand and a mic in the other.
