Chen Cheng's words seemed to jam, unclear and muffled. He struggled to get up, but it was as if he had been cast with an immobilization spell, futilely moving his body before collapsing weakly back down.
"Hey, don't move, lie still." Seeing this, Xiao Meier hurriedly pressed down on him, soothing him.
"Let me introduce, Xiao Meier, Chen Cheng's wife." Chen Cheng finally completed the latter half of his sentence, but his voice was much softer, as if he were talking to himself.
Xiao Meier, upon hearing this and recalling the day she went to pick up Chen Cheng and his announcement to everyone, couldn't help but smile.
"Really, I can't do anything with you, drinking so much. Do you feel good?"
She stood up to pour a cup of warm water and brought over a hot towel, carefully wiping Chen Cheng's face and hands.
"Water..." Chen Cheng felt the warm touch on his face and mumbled drowsily.
