Chapter 37 - 29 Advanced Ghost Gun

(New book in its last two or three days, asking for collections, reviews, and votes.)

"Number 0, did you have a nightmare?" NPC Maggie stealthily slipped into the Multi-species Research Center, and it had been a while. Since she couldn't bear to wake Number 0 from deep sleep, she could only entertain herself in the research center.

Hearing the sudden sound of sitting up behind her, NPC Maggie hurried over. In her hands, she was playing with the Ghost Needle Gun that Number 0 had put aside.

"Kids shouldn't play with weapons," Number 0 took a breath to recover and after wiping off some sweat, reached to take back his sidearm.

"While you were sealed in the Blood pupa, Mom did a very interesting experiment," NPC Maggie pulled out the magazine from the ghost pistol. Unlike the somewhat heavy magazine of an ordinary pistol, the Ghost Gun's magazine only contained more than 50 cow hair needles and looked a bit like a needle box for sewing.

Hearing NPC Maggie mention the interesting experiment again, Number 0 naturally thought of the pink pig cage grass experiment. NPC Maggie's so-called interesting experiment? Sure enough, NPC Maggie pulled out a cow hair needle that was half the length of a pinky finger and took out a dark brown test tube liquid from her backpack.

"Don't," Number 0 certainly didn't want his hard-earned, now convenient-to-use, and refined pistol to be ruined by NPC Maggie, and hurried to take it back.

NPC Maggie threw all the cow hair needles into the test tube, then shook it violently.

The cow hair needles made of titanium alloy changed color upon encountering the dark brown unidentified liquid, turning into an obscure black color like that of carbon ink.

NPC Maggie then poured the liquid out of the tube. The previously slender and shiny cow hair needles had all changed appearance. They curled up to half their original size due to extreme force, and the needles were crumpled. What Number 0 found hardest to accept was that the needles seemed to have life, twitching occasionally, and eventually, they returned slowly to their shiny needle appearance.

"Doesn't it look familiar? This liquid is extracted from the skin of a mature mutated leech that molted before death," NPC Maggie looked at her creation with satisfaction. Combining the cow hair needle with leech skin liquid was an idea that she came up with by herself.

"So, what kind of mutation effects will it have?" Seeing that it had come to this, Number 0 had no other choice but to hope that NPC Maggie's discovery wouldn't cause fatal damage to the functionality of his Ghost Needle Gun.

"Firstly, it turned black in color, so you can scare the enemy by saying it's coated with deadly poison. Secondly, think about it, needles that can move—once they enter the human body, they would surely terrify the enemy. To sum it up, as the inventor of this kind of needle, I've decided to rename it 'Leech Needle'." NPC Maggie was brimming with pride.

"Suit yourself, an egg turned into a tea egg is still an egg," Number 0 stuffed the needles that had become ugly and larger back into the magazine, "Just take me to meet your mom."

When Expert Sofia saw Number 0 coming, she exchanged a few pleasantries and then, using an excuse, sent NPC Maggie out.

From the flickering eyes of Expert Sofia, Number 0 sensed some trickery.

"0, the blood analysis results of the last mutant leech are out," Sofia still decided to hand the report to 0, after all, everything that might happen next, 0 must face alone.

The report clearly stated Sofia and several other experts' analysis results. According to DNA sample comparisons, it was discovered that the leeches' blood did not contain just a single leech blood sample.

"An adult leech, after absorbing and consuming prey, possesses prey blood in its body with an effective blood activity duration of three to four hours. The mutant leech, due to its large size, also sucked a large amount of prehistoric animal blood while parasitizing inside a Tyrannosaurus. This means that the blood pupae produced from the death of the mutant leech contained blood samples of nearly a hundred prehistoric animals. Blood, upon skin contact with the human body, could cause unknown effects," 0 read to the end of the report. But she still couldn't figure out what this 'unknown' meant.

"Take for instance the blood of a Gluttonous Tyrannosaurus, it contains biological attributes of the Tyrannosaurus, such as gluttony, ferocity, and astonishing explosive power," Expert Sofia, as a paleontologist, had been devoted to the study of prehistoric creatures. Despite racking her brains, she still could not predict whether 0, who emerged from the blood pupa after staying more than a month, would be affected by those mixed blood.

Considering the friendship between NPC Maggie and 0, Sofia didn't inform her daughter about this analysis report.

"So, what must I do, how should the military region handle me?" If it were just a simple case of reading a written report, Expert Sofia wouldn't show such a distressed expression.

Imagine, 0 is now like an explosive device unaware of the explosion event. If any changes occur to the mixed blood inside her, it could endanger Kapa Military District and even the peace of the entire Prehistoric Society.

"Myself, two Colonels, and the expert team after research decided to send you back to the year 2564, with several governments to decide, before you return to 2564, I have something else, please help me send it back too," Expert Sofia hopes that the more advanced medical equipment could help 0, purifying the blood in her body.

Expert Sofia pointed to several plant specimens and animal remains in the lab, and the most central, was a chunk of the conspicuously dark and lustrous Black Stone. Viewed from every angle of the table, the stone's surface was without cracks, shining and glossy.

"All these items were brought back from the Wilderness, that is, the uninhabited prehistoric region, and the items collected from the Wilderness region have all been analyzed," Maggie's mother stated firmly, having participated in the Wilderness collection herself over the past week.

For the future humans entering Prehistoric Society, they lost most of the modern equipment; this collection was all by manual means. The fatigued experts, upon hurrying back to Kapa Military District, immediately compiled all the various data without resting.

After speaking, Expert Sofia walked over to a computer, displaying the results of this exploration, "Three types of edible algae, ten new prehistoric species, and one suspected extraterrestrial meteorite."

All collected materials could undergo data analysis, their material structure generally conforms to the characteristics of Earth's biology, only this meteorite-looking Black Stone was different. Whether using optical fiber cutting or laser, its internal structure was indistinguishable. Its main component was bizarre, suspected to be foreign matter from Prehistoric Society.

"Take all of them back with you to 2564," 0 glanced subtly at the Black Stone and nodded, as if agreeing.

It was time for her to leave. If she really went to that year 2564, then she would truly be the first person in millions of years of history.
