'Soren... do you want me to help you?' Fang's voice echoed as a black, shadowy figure materialized before me. At my lowest point, I felt like nothing. The first time I saw Fang in this form, he seemed quite weak, but it appeared to be something I should get used to.
'What do you mean?' I mumbled, wiping my eyes and looking at him. He began to appear more human; his shadowy form shifted and solidified into a human body. His hair, once yellow, now seemed white. His blue eyes, his pupils, even his scales – everything about him had changed. He had developed a much deeper voice, and I could tell he was serious this time.
'I want to help you, just a bit,' Fang stated. 'If you manage to fully master your prime stone and that ********* of yours, you will be able to revive someone for a week. I've found out that currently, you are at 5%. You will need 50% to revive your brother if you truly seek it.'
Fang swung his tail around as he spoke, seemingly determined to get me back on my feet. I couldn't quite make out what he was saying about the other thing, but I trusted him. 'I am all yours. Tell me what I should do, master,' I said, bowing my head. Knowing that I could bring my brother back, even if only for a week, made me crack a smile. It meant I could speak with him once again.
'Great! Let's begin by talking to that man inside your stone. Focus, make your body feel like it's getting sucked away by that stone.'
Before I knew it, I was trying to focus. My body didn't feel like it was being sucked in; instead, everything seemed to slow down.
'Hey kid,' a deep voice echoed across the room. Everything slowed down except for him.
'Get back here!' an old man shouted, calling back to a young lady. 'Nooo...! Come on, body, you can go faster! Come on, come on, come on!!' she cried, her body bleeding as she ran out of the city, trying to lose the old man. 'Maya, this is what you're going to need. You need to come back!'
'Nooo, I don't want this!' Maya exclaimed. 'Ashley, quickly throw an ice spear at him! He may be able to slow down.'
'Right!' Ashley quickly formed an ice spear and threw it. Instead of slowing down, the old man knight tanked it as if nothing had hit him.
'What the hell are they training these humans in this kingdom? We must find Soren quickly!'
As they said that, the old man knight quickly sped up, catching up to them. Using his stone, he swiftly created a spear made of mud and threw it at us.
But before it could touch us, a seemingly lightning-like energy appeared and cut it down. It felt powerful, yet incomplete.
The figure slowly turned human. It looked exactly like Soren – his once jet-black hair now yellow, a golden yellow. His once sky-blue eyes were now golden yellow, and he looked more mature.
'What the... who is this kid?' the knight said, confusion evident in his voice. Soren didn't say anything but remained quiet as he uttered a single phrase: 'The unwritten knight.' He quickly pulled out his scythe and thrust it into the knight's neck. Screams of absolute despair echoed as the knight died in Soren's grasp.
Maya and Ashley couldn't believe what they were seeing – the once uncontrollable boy appearing before them as some type of higher being. But Soren stood there quietly, sighing as his hair slowly turned jet-black once again, his golden eyes returning to sky blue.
'Are you guys okay?' Soren asked, his voice now his familiar tone, though tinged with a newfound weariness. He looked from Maya to Ashley, his sky-blue eyes searching theirs for any sign of injury.
Maya, still wide-eyed, could only nod mutely. Ashley, however, found her voice first. 'Soren? Is that really you? What... what just happened?' She gestured vaguely towards the fallen knight, the mud spear now dissolving back into the earth.
Soren sighed again, running a hand through his now black hair. 'It's... complicated. I'm still trying to figure it out myself.' He glanced around, a flicker of concern crossing his features. 'Were there... were there others? Others trapped like you were?'
His question hung in the air, the silence punctuated only by the distant sounds of the city. Maya finally found her voice, her tone shaky. 'No... it was just us. He... he caught us. We were trying to get away from the attack aris lunch.'
Ashley nodded in agreement. 'We don't know what's going on. but while u were getting caught in the black shadow attack Lunch by aris it target almost everyone but I think I manage to help them before they got caught in it'
Soren's jaw tightened. 'Damnit'
Before either of them could answer, a faint but distinct energy pulsed in the air, originating from the direction of their home. Soren's eyes widened. 'That... that's the energy signature of the others! Something's wrong!'
Without another word, Soren turned, his earlier exhaustion replaced by a surge of urgency. 'Come on! We need to get back. Now!' He started to run, his movements fluid and swift, a stark contrast to the uncontrolled burst of power they had just witnessed.
Maya and Ashley exchanged a look of bewildered relief and dawning fear before scrambling to follow him. The image of the golden-eyed, powerful Soren was still fresh in their minds, a beacon of hope amidst the growing darkness. They could only pray that whatever had happened to him, whatever had unlocked that incredible power, would be enough to help them now. The path back home suddenly felt much longer, fraught with unseen dangers and unanswered questions.
