Xia Yuqing's hand froze midway. She looked up slowly, her eyes locking onto his. Her gaze narrowed. "Why are you suddenly bringing this up?" she asked quietly, voice sharp with suspicion.
"Did you bring me here just to talk about our separation? Lu Jinchen, if you want a divorce, you don't need to take me to such a fancy place and—"
"No!" Lu Jinchen interrupted her, far too loudly. His voice echoed throughout the glass dome, cutting through the soft hum of the aquarium tanks that surrounded them. It was jarring, and completely out of place.
Realizing his reaction was too strong, he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly and lowered his voice. "I didn't mean it like that. I don't want a divorce or a separation. Please… don't say that word so casually."
Xia Yuqing stared at him for a second before nodding slowly."Okay. Then why did you suddenly bring up those fifty million?"
He looked away, hesitating. "I was just… curious, that's all."
