Mila allowed her mother and Lacie to help her with her shoe, and not because she couldn't do it but because she stared at the television. Somehow the colors flashing in her eyes soothed something inside of her, like the colors she'd seen in her dream where she saw Scarlett.
Anyway the news was on, and it was about her. Some reporters had gathered in front of the hospital, and they were making up stories about her with no remorse whatsoever. Some even went as far as posting videos of what happened earlier where Mila was standing at the rooftop.
"Lacie, turn off the news," Mrs. Dennis suggested when she noticed Mila was watching with so much attention. She wanted more than anything to protect her daughter's sanity. Lacie obeyed her mother and reached for the remote controller.
"Leave it," Mila muttered, "They have something to say, so leave it."
