Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: Cleansing the Battlefield in New York

The world of magic also has trade markets, divided into formal markets regulated by various magical institutions and black markets that sell forbidden items. However, compared to other worlds, the black market on Earth is still relatively small, underdeveloped, and heavily monitored by dimensional law enforcers.

The best trade market is located in Hell Rift, specifically in a city called Krell. This city is unlike any ordinary city—it is entirely a black market known as the Unlimited Market, the largest cross-dimensional trading hub.

Different dimensions are like separate planets, each with unique environments and species with diverse physiological structures. Some dimensions can only be inhabited by hellish creatures, while others are suitable for flesh-and-blood entities. However, Krell is an exception.

It is said that an ancient artifact with extraordinary power resides there, allowing the entire city to adapt to the needs of any species. Whether someone needs Earth-like gravity, a nitrogen-based atmosphere, or even a pure energy-based environment, the city of Krell can automatically accommodate everything. This is what makes it a major meeting point for beings from various dimensions.

In this largest and most mysterious black market, almost anything can be traded, including items that are even forbidden by the Living Tribunal. Rumors say that planet-destroying weapons, artifacts that steal the concept of existence, and even the souls of fallen gods can be found there.

Lance had long heard stories about Krell, but so far, they had only been rumors—he had not yet had the opportunity to actually set foot in that place.

Moreover, Krell was filled with all kinds of supernatural beings—demons from various hells, shadow rulers from dimensional rifts, and entities that could not be comprehended by the minds of ordinary humans. As a human, especially one from Earth, his existence in such a place would be very risky. One mistake could make him a target, or worse, a meal for creatures that considered human flesh a delicacy.

However, Lance already had a plan. Once Lance reached a level of power equivalent to Shub-Niggurath or perhaps even Universal-Level, he would definitely try his luck in Krell.

For now, all Lance could do was gather "experience" and continue to level up!

As Lance killed the Dark Young, the giant rats that had previously been full of energy suddenly lost all their vitality.

As if experiencing a time acceleration of thousands of years in just a few minutes, their fat and watery bodies shriveled quickly. Their skin shrank, their flesh dried up, and in an instant, they collapsed into ashes that were blown away by a gentle breeze, leaving a chilling silence in the air.

Amidst the remnants of destruction, the body of The Three Arts Wizard finally fell to the ground with a crackling sound.

Although the energy of the evil god had vanished from them, the body still retained its intact skeletal structure—a remnant of a body that had long been submerged in deep magical power.

Then, a white light suddenly illuminated.

Victoria, who was about to step forward, halted instantly, her eyes wide.

"This isn't over, is it?!" Victoria murmured cautiously.

Beside her, Vivi and Christine reflexively gripped their weapons again—Vivi with her sword, Christine with her two-handed magic staff.

"Don't worry."

Doctor Druid calmly lit his pipe, then exhaled a thin stream of smoke while sighing. "They are no longer mortal beings… rather, their souls are now free."

Above the three skeletal wizards, a golden light began to shimmer, slowly gathering to form three human figures. They stood for a moment, nodding to Lance and the others before turning and fading into the sunlight.

Doctor Druid smiled faintly, his eyes filled with understanding. "Even though they are dead, they have finally found true peace."

Vivi stretched her body with relief. "Hah… they were pretty cool too."

Among the three wizards, only the Antler Mage was a man, while the other two were women. Vivi felt a bit relieved to know this for some reason.

Christine, still somewhat overwhelmed by everything that had happened, glanced at the SHIELD agents who were starting to arrive. "Alright… what do we do now?" Christine asked in a low voice.

"Next? Go home and rest," a voice replied.

Lance suddenly appeared beside the two of them, causing Vivi and Christine to almost jump in surprise.

Doctor Druid stared sharply at Lance, then furrowed his brow. "Something is bothering you, isn't it?"

As a high-level psychic master, Doctor Druid didn't need to use his abilities to sense that something was off with Lance.

Lance merely shrugged. "Just a minor issue, it's all sorted out."

Doctor Druid observed Lance for a moment, then chose not to press further. His gaze shifted to the two unfamiliar figures standing a little way off—Brynhildr and Raigō. Doctor Druid's eyes narrowed with interest.

"Where did you find them?" Doctor Druid asked, his voice filled with deep curiosity. "They do not belong to this world… they are beings from a perfect other dimension."

Although not particularly interested in other people's secrets, Doctor Druid was always curious about anything related to magic.

Lance paused for a moment, searching for the right answer. Finally, he sighed and said, "It's hard to explain..."

However, a thought crossed his mind. With a swift motion, Lance reached into his pocket and pulled out a small cat statue.

"Doctor Druid, I have something that might catch your interest," Lance said as he handed over the object. "This… is different from the magic we usually know. I would like to ask for your help to research and try to control the curse power that resides within it."

To understand new magic, one needs a broad and deep understanding—something Lance did not fully possess at the moment. However, Doctor Druid, also known as Anthony Ludgate, was a great wizard. If anyone could unravel the mystery of this statue, it was Doctor Druid.

In addition to satisfying his thirst for knowledge, this research could also help Lance transform the cat statue into a high-level magical weapon. Wasn't this like killing two or three birds with one stone?
