Chapter 554 - Chapter 805 - Porygon2

The Porygon's perspective appeared on Aoki's screen. In fact, after shrinking, through a strange twisted glass-like interface, the view outside the glass showed Aoki looking at himself as if peering into a mirror. The effect was peculiar and disorienting. Without dwelling too long on this unusual perspective, Aoki commanded the system to deactivate the virtual display before summoning the Porygon into physical space.

However, immediately upon materialization, a brilliant white glow suddenly enveloped the digital Pokemon's form. The radiant energy cocooned it completely as the unmistakable process of evolution began. The Porygon was evolving following the system's upgrade. According to Aoki's understanding of Porygon biology, this species' first evolutionary stage typically required extensive data communication and exchange as a catalyst. Yet in this case, the transformation made perfect sense. Since the system had downloaded and integrated all of the Porygon's information into its core databases, it essentially meant the system had absorbed and digitized the entire Pokemon before reconstituting it physically. This process fundamentally mirrored the required data exchange for evolution, albeit through unconventional means.

Previously, while the system remained dormant, the Porygon - existing as an extension of the system's programming - had similarly entered a suspended state. Now with the system's upgrade completed and reactivated, the Porygon immediately began its evolution. One complication remained - unlike most Pokemon, creatures like Porygon had no established method for enhancing their potential through specialized medicines. Aoki's research had uncovered no existing data about Porygon enhancement supplements, making traditional improvement methods impossible. They would simply have to observe how far its natural capabilities could develop.

The luminous energy dissipated as smoothly as it appeared, revealing the newly evolved Pokemon. Where the angular, geometric Porygon had once appeared somewhat rigid and mechanical, its evolved form displayed softer, rounded edges and contours. Porygon2 maintained the same basic structure but with all sharp corners smoothed into gentle curves. The distinctive chest pattern now resembled a drinking bird toy, though the familiar red and blue color scheme clearly identified it as the same species evolved form.

"This Porygon2 may well be the first of its kind to achieve this evolutionary stage," Aoki mused while activating the system's upgraded scanning protocols. Previously, the lack of data on digital Pokemon had made accurate assessments impossible, but now with the Porygon2 fully integrated into the system's architecture, precise evaluation became feasible.

As expected, the system could now properly calculate Porygon2's potential. While only dark green aptitude, for Aoki's purposes this sufficed perfectly. The digital Pokemon served primarily as an auxiliary tool rather than a combatant. Even at its current level, Aoki had no immediate plans to actively train it. Its true value lay in data collection - the more information it gathered, the more it could enhance both itself and the system's capabilities.

The symbiotic relationship between system and Porygon2 proved mutually beneficial. While Porygon2 gathered information to expand the system's databases, the system's processing power enabled Porygon2's evolution and accelerated its data absorption rates. Though functionally unified, Aoki still mentally categorized them as separate entities.

"System, test Porygon2's holographic projection and audio replication functions," Aoki commanded mentally. Responding instantly, Porygon2's circular eyes illuminated, projecting twin beams that coalesced into a three-dimensional image of Aoki himself. When Aoki moved his hand, the holographic duplicate mirrored the motion perfectly, creating the uncanny illusion of a second Aoki existing in the space - tangible in every aspect except physical substance.

Next, Aoki spoke several test phrases which Porygon2 reproduced with flawless accuracy, maintaining perfect synchronization without detectable delay. The seamless data transmission between system and Porygon2 through open air demonstrated remarkably advanced functionality.

"System, what is the effective range for maintaining connection with Porygon2's subsystems?" Aoki inquired.

"Standard connection remains stable across any distance within conventional spacetime parameters," the system responded in noticeably more natural speech patterns compared to its previous mechanical tones. "At extreme ranges, holographic and audio transmission may experience up to three seconds latency maximum." The system's evolving personality mirrored Porygon2's physical evolution from sharp angles to smooth curves.

Satisfied, Aoki nodded. Barring dimensional disruptions, the connection would remain reliable. Further testing confirmed that when disconnected from the system, Porygon2 entered standby mode - maintaining no independent consciousness or capacity for spontaneous action. Crucially, when Porygon2 digitized itself to enter electronic networks or devices, the system retained complete control with no risk of the Pokemon developing autonomy. This solved what had been Team Rocket's greatest challenge in developing controllable digital Pokemon - a problem Aoki's system had effortlessly overcome.

The subsystem existed as pure data integrated into Porygon2's programming, permanently bonded regardless of whether the Pokemon existed in physical or digital form. Even when transformed into data streams within networks, the system's subsystems maintained absolute authority over Porygon2's actions and functions.

Finally, Aoki investigated whether the system could generate additional subsystems. While rare, more Porygon specimens existed worldwide. Controlling multiple digital Pokemon would exponentially increase data collection capabilities, expanding the system's storage and processing power to create the planet's most comprehensive database. Moreover, an army of Porygon could provide overwhelming informational warfare advantages. Before engaging any organization in conflict, deploying Porygon to dismantle enemy communications and data systems would guarantee victory.

The modern Pokemon world's reliance on technology made most factions vulnerable to such attacks. Only major organizations with specific countermeasures could detect and defend against Porygon incursions, leaving smaller groups completely exposed. Their computers and servers would become extensions of Aoki's own network - his to access and control at will. The potential applications were limitless, provided he could acquire more Porygon and develop additional subsystems to control them. Each new digital Pokemon would make his information network more powerful, his knowledge more complete, and his strategic advantages more insurmountable. In an increasingly connected world, data meant power, and through Porygon, Aoki could potentially control it all.
