Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: The God's Gravity Field! Slowed Shells, Crushed Flesh and Bone!

Chapter 250: The God's Gravity Field! Slowed Shells, Crushed Flesh and Bone!

Elite warriors who valued honor as their very essence would never bow to someone like David—a stranger of unknown origin—without a compelling reason. They weren't that foolish.

Even the jackal officer, burning with rage despite the fear welling up inside, remained defiantly upright. Seeing the elites standing their ground, unwilling to kneel like the Grunts, it too refused to yield, locking into a standoff with David. If the enemy doesn't move, I won't either—simple as that.

Observing the situation, David reflected thoughtfully. He recalled that the Brutes of the Covenant were known for their savagery.

Not only were they unruly, but they also had a dangerous tendency to overstep authority. This skirmish was proof: even a low-ranking officer dared to defy a superior. Imagine if the LA Megacorp's forces had taken in these beasts. Wouldn't they just end up devouring every ordinary human soldier in their ranks?

This species cannot be allowed to exist!

With that thought, David turned his attention to the Elites—a species with intelligence and a capacity for reason. They were far easier to deal with.

Unlike the volatile Brutes, the Elites were less prone to unpredictable outbursts and loss of control.

So why not use this Brutes as a catalyst to stir internal chaos within the Covenant? Push them toward infighting and self-destruction ahead of schedule.

Having made up his mind, David stepped forward deliberately, closing the distance between himself and both the Brutes and the Elites, tightening the already tense atmosphere.

As David, tall and imposing, advanced with pressure mounting, both the Brutes and the Elite instinctively held their breath, terrified that even the slightest movement might trigger the wrath of this juggernaut.

Of course, most of their thoughts were consumed with the dilemma: should they strike first and risk committing "deicide" by killing this oversized tin can?

But just as the Elites and other alien races fell into indecision, David suddenly burst into action. One hand seized the Brutes skull while the other swung his chainsword downward, instantly severing its legs.

In a blink, the once-towering Brutes crumpled to the ground with a thud, forced to "kneel" before David.

From the Elite officer's perspective, all they saw was a blur—and then the Brutes officer's torso collapsed, brought to its knees in a gruesome spectacle.

David's chainsword had hacked off its legs in one brutal strike!

The reversal was so swift the Elites didn't even notice when David had moved. The three-way standoff was shattered in an instant.

David now held the advantage.

"Roaargh—Kill them!!"

Finally feeling the excruciating pain in its legs, the Brutes officer let out a furious, anguished roar, ordering its troops to rip the false gods apart at any cost.

Even if David truly was a god, it vowed he would bleed!

But David had no intention of letting a legless beast bark orders. Without hesitation, he swung his sword and decapitated it, then raised its head high:

"Those who do not kneel—die!"

With that declaration, Reed led the Astartes warriors straight into the charging Brutes troops. The clash and cries of battle stirred nearby Covenant units of other species.

But without the Elites' command, none dared intervene to assist the Brutes. After all, who would dare provoke the wrath of a god?

And so, an eerie scene unfolded—while theBrutes were being slaughtered by the Astartes, their supposed allies, the Elites, Grunts, and Jackals, stood by as spectators.

"You—kneel."

David ignored the ongoing massacre. His bloodstained chainsword now pointed at the Elite officer as he repeated the earlier command.

After such a vivid and "persuasive" display, even the densest being would understand what kneel meant.

Yet the Elite officer did not cower. Instead, it lifted its head and locked eyes with David, the visors of their helmets meeting in a silent confrontation.

The Elite was trying to see through the mask—was this being a fraud? Meanwhile, David was still offering a way out. If the Elite didn't recognize the situation, he'd have no choice but to make another example.

The officer's breathing grew erratic, its internal storm of anger, confusion, and hesitation grinding with torment each passing second.

Vrrr—!

Bang!

Whir!

The shrieks, pleas, and cries of battle filled the air, only to fade swiftly into silence.

Under Reed command, theBrutes in the area had been wiped out. Only a few stragglers on the outskirts remained unaware of what had transpired.

Those who perished met brutal ends: cleaved by chainswords or shot in the head by boltguns, their brains blown apart.

SomeBrutes were taller and bulkier than the Astartes, but it didn't matter. The warriors had better gear and faster reflexes.

Seeing David decapitate their commanding officer in front of allied troops without consequence, manyBrutes began to believe the Astartes truly were divine.

Faced with what they saw as divine retribution, some even willingly exposed their necks to be executed.

The grotesque spectacle sent chills through the Boar Beasts, who instinctively began to flee, terrified that they'd be next.

"Quaa! TheBrutes angered the god—run!"

The Jackals, ever opportunistic, followed suit without a word, scattering in retreat.

Soon, only the Elite units remained, still facing off against David, still caught between doubt and fear.

The Elite officer glanced down at the severed head at David's feet and felt an unexpected sense of satisfaction—but still didn't know what to do.

Then David moved.

As he stepped closer with chainsword in hand, the Elite officer thought David had run out of patience and was about to strike. Its legs buckled involuntarily—and it knelt.

Seeing their officer bow, the rest of the Elite soldiers followed suit, kneeling one after another in submission to David.

Only then did David sheathe his sword. Looking over the kneeling Elites, he felt an indescribable satisfaction. It was a damn good feeling!

Still, he couldn't allow them to kneel for too long—he didn't have the authority to demand an entire species' submission.

Only one man had that right: his boss, Li Ang.

David approached the Elite officer, confiscated its weapon, crushed it in his hand, then pulled the officer to its feet.

"Good," he said.

The fewer words, the more imposing. Besides, they wouldn't understand much anyway. No need to waste breath.

David patted the officer's shoulder, then gave the order to Reed and the other Astartes: "Exterminate theBrutes and the Jackals. Leave none alive."

His intent was clear: the violent and unpredictableBrutes , along with the insubordinate, greedy Jackals, needed to be eradicated.

Leaving such threats alive would only bring trouble to the LA Megacorp later. Building up a civilization takes effort—but wiping one out? That's easy.

With the command given, the Astartes nodded and formed strike teams, advancing toward the Covenant's fleet position.

David followed, with the Elites trailing behind him.

They had chosen to bow to this "god." Now, as warriors, they had no choice but to follow.

Whether they would live or die would depend on David's will.

The Elite officer, watching David's broad back ahead, briefly imagined stabbing him in the back—but it knew that would be suicide.

Such an act could doom their entire species.

Besides, Elites prided themselves on their honor—they would never stoop to the disgraceful treachery typical of theBrutes . All it could do was follow David obediently.

Before long, bolter fire erupted again, spraying death across the remainingBrutes and Jackals.

Just then, the Covenant's fleet began deploying more Oni-faced Beast reinforcements to the surface, clashing with the Astartes in fierce combat.

Logically, with the Elites having submitted to David, the rest of the Covenant should've surrendered too.

After all, the Elites led the Covenant's vanguard forces. But reality was different—the factions were divided. The Elites knelt, but theBrutes remained defiant.

This gave David even more reason to eradicate them all without guilt.

Under the devastating firepower of the Astartes, these poorly equipped Covenant troops had no chance.

Even barehanded, the warriors could crush these soldiers who lacked powered armor.

So with David's cleansing order, theBrutes and Jackals faced one fate: annihilation by bolter fire, chainsword, or trampling boots.

Boom—!!

Any Beast or Jackal hit by bolter rounds was torn apart by cannon-like blasts.

Those who survived the initial hit were shredded by shrapnel and shockwaves from the second-stage explosions.

Even the few Oni-faced officers who wore powered armor or energy shields stood no chance—the bolters' firepower was simply too overwhelming.

As for Jackals hiding in the shadows, hoping to escape unnoticed, they were picked out by Astartes scanning devices and executed one by one.

Any who dared resist made things easier—they saved the warriors the trouble of searching.

With the cleansing order in effect, the warriors executed every target until none remained.

Meanwhile, the panicked Boar Beasts either dropped to their knees, trembling and begging for mercy, or waddled away like frantic penguins.

As David and his forces approached the Covenant fleet, resistance stiffened—but thanks to ample ammo supplies, their advance never slowed.

Before coming here, David had ensured they were well-stocked. For wiping out Jackals andBrutes , this loadout was more than sufficient.

Now, they had finally reached the heart of the enemy—beneath the Covenant fleet itself. Ahead stood the gravity lift and legions of Covenant troops.

The surrounding skies, dimmed by Behemoth's orbiting warships, cast this open battlefield into a heavy gloom.

Everyone was engulfed in the shadow of the colossal warship.

However, this meant little to the Astartes warriors, whose enhanced vision systems rendered day and night irrelevant—they could charge into battle without the slightest hindrance.

This zone was heavily fortified, not only with numerous combat squads but also with defensive turrets and medium-sized hover tanks.

In addition, a squad of heavily armored soldiers surrounded the gravity lift. They were even larger than David—clearly an elite Covenant unit.

"Squawk! The Elites have colluded with off-worlders to betray the Covenant, to betray the Prophets—kill them all!!"

The leading Jackal and Brute officers had already received word from the front lines. Wasting no time, they decided to strike first, launching a preemptive attack against the incoming Astartes warriors.

They didn't care whether David was a Forerunner or even a god to their people—that meant nothing to them. If someone dared attack them, they'd respond with firepower first and questions never.

But before the Jackals and Brutes could finish priming their weapons for a barrage, Reed had already established contact with the warriors aboard the Forerunner warship.

He ordered them to target the Jackal and Brute forces on the ground with a full-scale gravity field strike.

"Fire——!!"

With the Brute officer's roar, a torrent of plasma bolts and artillery shells surged toward David and his allies.

But in the very next second, as the Wayfarer's array activated its high-intensity gravity field, the incoming munitions froze mid-air—some even exploded prematurely, not harming a single hair on David or the warriors beside him.

The gravity field then spread across the ground like an invisible finger crushing ants. The Jackals and Brutes who had moments earlier been screaming about making a god bleed were instantly obliterated from the inside out.

Helmets, skulls, brain matter, armor, and internal organs all burst outward in a grotesque spray, as though they were overripe bugs crushed under pressure.

As waves of blood mist and stench rolled outward, countless Brutes and Jackals were annihilated by the gravity field. Every inch of land touched by its force was wiped clean of life—there wasn't a single survivor.

The sheer spectacle left the elite warriors behind David frozen in place, staring in stunned silence.
