Chapter 120: It Ended Before the Warm-Up Even Began
If the two of them were fighting on the ground instead of high in the sky, their attacks might have shaken the entire continent.
After all, battles at the dragon level and beyond were catastrophic, capable of toppling mountains, shattering continents, and even scouring the earth. In a remastered version, they'd be outright planet-busting!
"You're too slow."
Chang Wei smiled as he spoke to Vaccine Man.
Enraged, Vaccine Man's gruesome head wound healed instantly.
"What are you so smug about, human?!"
It opened its mouth wide—so wide that its entire face seemed to split apart. A massive energy sphere rapidly formed inside.
"What terrifying energy."
Chang Wei clicked his tongue, but then a flash of silver light gleamed between his brows. A beam of rainbow energy shot out, instantly vaporizing Vaccine Man's head. The terrifying beam then streaked into the sky, vanishing tens of thousands of miles away.
"I have that too—but I don't even need to charge up."
Chang Wei continued casually. Yet, despite losing its head, Vaccine Man regenerated it once more.
"I was born from the will of the Earth to exterminate you humans! You can't possibly kill me!"
Vaccine Man roared, its body suddenly riddled with holes. From each opening, terrifying energy beams erupted, piercing through both the sky and the ground. Wherever they struck, bottomless craters were left behind.
"This kind of unscientific energy output..."
Chang Wei weaved effortlessly through the beams like a butterfly dancing among flowers. His speed was simply too fast. Even though he was moving at what seemed like a leisurely stroll, none of the energy blasts could touch him. They were near-light-speed energy streams, but unfortunately, the one controlling them didn't have near-light-speed reaction time.
"Consecutive Supersonic Punches!"
Chang Wei struck with one hand, unleashing hundreds of punches in an instant, pulverizing Vaccine Man's entire body.
"ARGH—!"
Vaccine Man's body shattered completely, wracked with agony. But in the next moment, it reformed—this time in a smaller, more condensed form.
"A third phase? Are you kidding me?"
Chang Wei muttered in disbelief. Through molecular observation, he could tell that Vaccine Man's physical strength had instantly ascended to a new level. Was this some kind of boss battle with multiple phases?
But wasn't this a bit too ridiculous? Could it really evolve even further?
...
Meanwhile, at the Hero Association, Vaccine Man's battle with Chang Wei had not gone unnoticed.
It was no surprise that Saitama remained undetected—after all, he had a passive stealth ability bestowed by the great cosmic will itself.
"Bad news, Chairman! The monster has grown even stronger!"
A staff member urgently reported to Sitch.
"What?! Even stronger?"
Cold sweat dripped down Sitch's forehead. The previously recorded power levels were already terrifying, and now it had gotten stronger?
"It looks like someone is fighting it."
"What? Smiling Mask and the others were already defeated, and Tornado is still on her way. Is it another S-Class hero?"
Sitch asked incredulously.
Soon, the Hero Association's advanced satellites transmitted a live feed of the battle. Sitch saw Chang Wei clashing with Vaccine Man.
"We have no records on this person. He's not affiliated with the Hero Association, and there's no available identity data."
The staff quickly pulled up all relevant information and reported back.
"A powerful wanderer?"
Sitch was getting excited now. Vaccine Man had already defeated several A-Class heroes. Yet here was someone capable of holding their own against it—and from the looks of things, Vaccine Man had even powered up. Could this person have S-Class-level strength?
Then, Vaccine Man launched an energy blast in anger. Previously, its ability to fire these beams was the reason the association classified it as a dragon-level threat—the destruction was simply too immense.
But now, it seemed even more powerful. Could this be its true strength?
As Sitch observed the latest developments, he felt his scalp tingle.
This... This was the greatest disaster humanity had ever faced!
...
"I've been noticed."
Chang Wei could sense that he was being observed—whether by machines or living beings, their gaze would always trigger his instincts.
But he didn't care. His focus remained on Vaccine Man.
"I shattered you into pieces, and yet you're still alive… How did Saitama deal with you? Did he just punch you out of existence, erasing your concept and will?"
Chang Wei mused.
After all, his Consecutive Supersonic Punches had reduced Vaccine Man to particles visible to the naked eye, an even finer destruction than Saitama's punch. Yet, it still managed to regenerate.
Compression equals power. The previously gigantic Vaccine Man had now condensed itself into a more compact form. Though it was still much larger than first-form Demon King Piccolo, it had a commanding stature akin to a high-ranking general. More importantly, its strength had surged, and its speed had increased dramatically.
It was as if it had evolved specifically to counter Chang Wei.
In the next instant, Vaccine Man vanished from its position. The resulting sonic boom shattered the surrounding city ruins into dust.
Simultaneously, the extreme heat from the thermal shockwave melted everything.
Chang Wei met its punch head-on, grabbing Vaccine Man's fist with one hand.
Beneath them, the ground turned to molten lava in an instant!
Such was the result of high-speed, high-mass collisions.
Vaccine Man's speed had now surpassed the level Chang Wei had previously displayed.
"Impressive."
With one hand in his pocket, Chang Wei firmly grasped Vaccine Man's fist with the other, his face showing a look of mild surprise.
Vaccine Man felt utterly mocked.
What infuriated it the most was that Chang Wei's clothes remained spotless, and not a single strand of his hair was out of place. If this wasn't mockery, then what was?
The next moment, its face was smashed in by a punch, caving inward completely. But Chang Wei noticed that its cells were remarkably elastic, dispersing most of the force. Still, the power gap was too vast. With a mere tweak in his punch's structure, Chang Wei completely blew Vaccine Man's head apart!
Immediately after, he unleashed an even greater surge of strength and speed. His fists moved so fast they seemed to vanish, relentlessly tearing Vaccine Man apart!
Each punch churned the atmosphere, shattered the clouds, and generated shockwaves strong enough to pulverize mountains.
The deafening clang of each impact rang out like thunder, shaking the heavens and earth!
"Come on! Can you evolve again? Faster! Stronger!"
Chang Wei continued pummeling Vaccine Man, eager to see it power up even further.
After all, he hadn't even activated his "warm-up state" yet. In his base form, he was already crushing Vaccine Man effortlessly.
Vaccine Man was utterly dumbfounded.
Who am I? Where am I? Why am I still getting beaten up after being strengthened so many times by the Earth's will?
Where the hell did this human even come from?!
"Damn you, human!!!"
Vaccine Man roared in fury.
But its body could no longer keep up with the rate at which Chang Wei was tearing it apart.
