Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: The Mighty Lordson

The crowd stared in shock at the pile of gold Lin Fan had just thrown down.

What?

What just happened?

80,000 gold coins?

Was this real?

Everyone looked at Lin Fan in disbelief, then turned to the massive pile of gold on the stall.

The coins were stacked thickly, and at a glance, it looked very close to 80,000 gold.

They couldn't believe Lin Fan had actually paid 80,000 gold.

After all, when Lin Fan had placed the bid, he had done so so casually—so casually that they all thought he was joking.

Even Pande was momentarily stunned, clearly not expecting Lin Fan to actually pay.

He had assumed Lin Fan was just messing around.

Hesitantly, he gave Lin Fan a quick glance, then reached out to count the gold on the stall.

After carefully checking every coin, he confirmed—it was exactly 80,000 gold.

Not a single coin more, not a single coin less.

For a moment, Pande didn't even know what to say. Feeling a little guilty, he looked at Lin Fan apologetically.

"Uh… I… Sorry about that." He scratched his head, clearly embarrassed.

Lin Fan waved his hand dismissively, not interested in arguing about it.

"So, can I take my slave now?"

"Of course! Of course!" Pande quickly nodded and handed over the massively built slave.

When the crowd saw this, they immediately understood—Lin Fan had indeed paid the full 80,000 gold.

They were all dumbfounded.

"He really has the money? I thought he was just joking!"

"This guy doesn't even care about money! That slave probably could've been bought for 50,000 or 60,000 gold, but he just threw out 80,000 like it was nothing!"

"Man, I wish I could be like that—tossing 80,000 gold around without a second thought!"

"Has anyone seen this guy before? Is he some rich landowner from around here? How is he so loaded?"

"Never seen him before. I've lived here for over ten years—I know all the rich landowners in the area, but this kid? Total stranger."

The crowd erupted into whispers as they tried to figure out who Lin Fan was.

They had seen wealthy people before, but never anyone as carefree about money as Lin Fan.

Even the richest landowners around here would carefully calculate their spending before buying a slave.

Lin Fan, on the other hand, spent money like it was nothing—he seemed richer than the landowners themselves.

While the crowd buzzed with speculation, Lin Fan took the rope Pande had handed him and untied it from the slave's wrists, then casually tossed it aside.

Seeing this, Pande's face turned pale.

"W-Wait— What are you doing?!" Pande rushed forward in panic, trying to stop Lin Fan.

"You can't just untie him! What if he runs away?"

This slave was incredibly strong—if he decided to escape, how could a small, skinny guy like Lin Fan possibly stop him?

Pande reached out to put the rope back on, but Lin Fan raised a hand to stop him.

"No need. I was going to untie him sooner or later anyway."

"Wait, wait, wait! You haven't even trained him yet! If he runs, I won't be responsible!" Pande quickly distanced himself from the problem.

Lin Fan chuckled lightly.

"Don't worry. He won't run."

Hearing Lin Fan's words, the crowd turned to look at the massive slave.

"Kid, you might be rich, but you don't stand a chance against that guy. I'd tie him back up if I were you."

"Yeah, look at yourself—then look at him. Even if he doesn't attack you, if he just runs, there's no way you can catch him."

"You're confident, sure—but don't be too confident. If he escapes, you just threw away 80,000 gold for nothing!"

"You really think you're Lin Fan? You think you can control him?"

The surrounding crowd burst into laughter, mocking him. Lin Fan simply smiled along with them.

"I really am Lin Fan, though." He said it calmly.

Upon hearing this, the crowd exchanged glances, then laughed even louder.

"Did you hear that? He actually claims he's Lin Fan!"

"People calling themselves Lin Fan are everywhere today. If he's Lin Fan, then I might as well be Lin Fan too."

"Kid, don't joke with us. You may be rich, but the real Lin Fan can one-shot the Ninth Tower Boss with a single punch!"

"Exactly! And besides, how could Lin Fan possibly have time to stand around here chatting with us?"

None of them believed he was the real Lin Fan. To them, it was just another joke.

Lin Fan shrugged helplessly. If they didn't believe him, he wasn't going to waste time proving it.

He turned to the muscular slave.

"What's your name?"

The slave looked up at Lin Fan.

Because Lin Fan had untied his ropes, he already felt a bit of goodwill toward him.

"My name is Lordson." His voice was deep and powerful, carrying a calmness unlike the other slaves.

Lin Fan gave him a thoughtful glance.

"From now on, you'll follow me. If you do well, I won't treat you unfairly."

Lordson didn't show much excitement—he simply nodded slightly.

With that, the second round of the auction began.

This time, the slave being auctioned was also male, but compared to Lordson, he was far less impressive.

His starting price was only 10,000 gold, and the local landowners immediately started calculating carefully before bidding.

"10,050."

"10,100."

"10,500."

"11,000."

Hearing these tiny increments, Pande yawned, looking bored.

Suddenly, he felt like these so-called wealthy landowners were nothing compared to Lin Fan.

They would haggle over a few hundred gold for half a day, and it was starting to annoy him.

Finally, the price slowly climbed to 20,000 gold, and Pande perked up a little.

"25,000! Any higher bids?" He tapped his small hammer against the stall.

Lin Fan watched the landowners fidget anxiously, then stepped forward.

"30,000."

Pande shuddered and immediately snapped to attention.

The landowners had been raising their bids by mere hundreds, making him so bored he nearly fell asleep.

But Lin Fan? Lin Fan never hesitated—his bids jumped thousands at a time.

Pande's eyes lit up with joy.

He glanced at Lin Fan, then turned to the stingy landowners with a smirk.

"Any higher bids?"

"30,000 once! 30,000 twice! 30,000 three times!"

"Sold!"

With a final strike of his hammer, the slave belonged to Lin Fan.

At this point, the landowners' expressions had completely changed.

"What the hell is this?! We're trying to buy slaves here, and he just keeps ruining everything! How are we supposed to compete?"

Hearing their frustrated protests, Pande shrugged indifferently.

"This is an auction. The highest bidder wins. If you want to buy, then pay more."
