CHAPTER 86
*****
LIAM'S POV
I could barely believe my eyes. Was I dreaming? It felt like I was caught in a haze, trying to wake myself up—but no, this wasn't a dream. It was reality, sharp and cruel.
"What's happening here?" I asked, my voice low as I cast a quick glance at the men surrounding me. Their heads were still bowed in reverence or fear—I couldn't tell which. But my eyes locked onto her—her—the person I never expected to see again. My former best friend, standing confidently across from me, meeting my gaze without flinching.
She didn't look like the girl I remembered. The innocent smile I had known so well was gone, replaced with a smirk laced with something far more dangerous—something that screamed, I dare you to challenge me.
"You're still trying to figure it out?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. Her voice was mocking, teasing, a far cry from the warmth it once held.
