She learned that Aaron had distributed the tokens among the group, which he obtained from the ambushing students who camped at the edge to cause trouble for the students who were returning.
Though camping is considered unethical, it was never made illegal in the tournament. It has been years since these tournaments started. So, they saw almost every move that can be made.
