"Roar!"
Su Nian covered Anna's ears and let out a deafening roar, jolting the bird demon leader out of her indecent daydream.
Hana snapped back to reality, mistakenly thinking the black dragon before her was eager to proceed.
Though a bit shy, she reminded herself that they were monsters, not bound by human customs like exchanging tokens of affection or formal courtship.
None of that was necessary. If there was mutual attraction, they could start reproducing right away.
With that thought in mind, the bird demon leader Hana bashfully spread her wings, revealing her scrawny body.
To make things easier for the black dragon, she even retracted her sharp claws and fangs.
However...
"Smack—"
A powerful slap landed on Hana's face, sending her spinning five or six times before she collapsed to the ground, her limbs twisted together.
Dazed, she looked up at the ferocious black dragon with a mix of shock and disbelief, as if gazing at a heartless lover who had just betrayed her with another bird demon right before her eyes.
Su Nian rubbed his claws together, producing a crisp "crack-crack" sound. He felt the bird demon leader still hadn't fully recovered her senses.
So, he raised his dragon claw again, controlled his strength, and delivered another resounding slap.
"Smack—"
A few teeth, accompanied by a bit of blood, flew out.
Finally, the bird demon leader's swollen face showed clarity as she realized the black dragon had no intention of reproducing with her.
Damn it! Was she not beautiful enough?
Were her once vibrant feathers, now shed, not attractive? Though they were gone now, they had been splendid!
Was her carefully woven dreadlocks not stinky enough?
Or were her "headlights" not flat enough? Her skin not rough enough?
Hana couldn't understand. She had turned down countless male bird demons who sought to mate with her!
What kind of aesthetic did this black dragon have?
Though resentful, Hana obediently prostrated herself on the ground, exuding utmost humility.
She dared not further provoke the black dragon, as she could faintly sense a trace of killing intent.
"If you don't want your entire tribe to end up as food in my belly, I suggest you immediately abandon those unrealistic thoughts in your head!"
Su Nian refrained from further punishing the bird demon leader.
These bird demons, with an average level of 17, were excellent candidates for an air force. Their sneaky nature made them ideal scouts. Killing them outright would be a waste.
Moreover, the bird demons had other uses.
Their flight capability made them suitable for transporting goods and performing labor.
Each bird demon possessed a melodious voice, perfect for luring players into traps.
Additionally, to maintain their feathers in optimal condition, these bird demons shed their feathers at a rapid rate.
Apart from a few feathers retained for enhancing their appeal to the opposite sex, most of their "utility feathers" were replaced every three days.
These discarded feathers could be used to make clothes and decorations—a task Su Nian had already assigned to the kobolds.
Thus, the bird demons were currently featherless.
"F-forgive me, great true dragon. I am willing to atone for my foolishness," the bird demon leader Hana stammered, bowing her head low.
"Very well. Though your lowly bloodline is unworthy of becoming my kin, consider yourselves fortunate. I am in need of expanding my forces. Even as inferior as you are, you may still receive my grace."
Su Nian raised his dragon head proudly. His five-meter-long body already appeared massive to the bird demon leader, and when he spread his ten-meter wingspan, it nearly blocked out all light.
Under the shadow of his wings, Hana's fear and awe reached their peak, and the surrounding bird demons trembled under the increasingly oppressive Dragon's Might.
"This... this is our honor, great true dragon. On behalf of all bird demons, I thank you for your mercy. We are willing to become your kin," Hana said, her voice filled with humility, her face nearly buried in the dirt.
"Hmm..."
Su Nian let out a cold snort, his dragon face expressionless. He lifted a sharp claw and dropped a single drop of his heart's blood onto Hana's forehead, where it quickly merged into her.
With this drop of blood, there was little chance of Hana betraying him.
"I, Su Nian Wotru Stupak, declare you and your tribe to be my kin. Remember my true name; it is a name you shall honor."
"From now on, your name shall be 'Too Beautiful.'"
Su Nian casually gave the bird demon leader a new name. Hana, or whatever it was, was too hard to remember.
The bird demon leader Hana's neck was already sprouting fine black scales, and her once round brown pupils had transformed into dragon-like golden vertical slits.
Her previously scrawny skin now appeared fuller, making her look less hideous.
Hana was overwhelmed with excitement.
Although she knew the effects of dragon heart's blood were extraordinary, she never imagined she would have the chance to receive it.
She had thought she would remain just an ordinary kin.
But... what kind of name was "Too Beautiful"?
Was it a compliment to her beauty?
Hana felt a bit bashful, but she still thought her original name sounded better. So she decided to try and plead her case.
"Great master, I actually have a name. My name is Hana."
"Too Beautiful."
"But..."
"Too Beautiful."
"As you wish, great master. From now on, I am Too Beautiful," Hana said, bowing her head with utmost respect, grateful for her new name.
Satisfied, Su Nian nodded and continued giving orders:
"Starting tomorrow, you and your tribe will train alongside those rabbits. Within three days, I want to see muscles on your bodies."
"Additionally, every day, you are to carry ten tons of stone to the area outside my dragon's nest. This will train your carrying capacity."
"I expect you to perform well even on the ground. My requirements are not high—just be able to defeat Bugs Bunny."
"Oh, that's the Fireflame Rabbit wearing the gold chain," Su Nian said, pointing with his dragon claw.
Hana followed his gaze and saw a Fireflame Rabbit, all muscle and adorned with a gold chain, hanging from a stone beam and furiously doing pull-ups. The rabbit let out low grunts of effort, moving so fast it was a blur.
What terrified Hana even more was that the Fireflame Rabbit had two hefty Spearboars hanging from its ankles, tied with Blackwater Pythons.
Sensing the attention, the Fireflame Rabbit turned its head, twitched its ears, and flashed a bright, toothy grin.
The smile was anything but comforting. """
