The metal arm was the length of what my own had been. It could extend blades or a claw at the press of a button. I laid in bed staring at the weapon, turning it over in the light when I heard the screams of war.
I shot up from my bed and without hesitation Jess and I ran down the hall. I opened the door to Alex and Belle's room, finding it empty.
We kept running until we came to the first floor. My eyes widened at the sight of the sea of zombies that flooded the streets. They were held back by the gate. Still they tried to force themselves through the bars, their flesh slopping off but their bodies still working to fit inside.
"Come on."
I followed Jess to Bianca who sat alone at the desk.
"Protocol one?"
