Neither of them stood a chance. The bond wasn't waiting for permission…it had wrapped its tendrils around them both and yanked them into each other's orbit.
Kade's hand slid into her hair, anchoring her, and their mouths warred. She bit his lip and he growled into her mouth. It was two people trying to get as close as physically possible because words had failed and emotion had boiled over.
May moaned, a sound that shot straight through his core and he lifted her off the ground like she weighed nothing. She squeaked in surprise but didn't stop him, wrapping her legs around his waist instinctively.
He set her down on the back of the couch, his hands sliding up the soft skin of her thighs. She was breathing fast, heart pounding against his chest, eyes glazed with want.
"This…" she breathed, "...is a bad idea."
"Terrible," Kade agreed, lips trailing down her jaw. "Truly awful."
She arched against him. "This doesn't mean anything. This could just be stress. Or hormones."
