Noran widened his eyes a little at Shuri's question but quickly regained his composure, putting on a smile.
"I'm not cheating on you, Rin," he said in a light tone.
"Ran! You know I'm not asking about that," Shuri replied with a pout, realizing Noran was dodging her question.
He had deliberately diverted the topic.
Noran let out a soft laugh.
"You really have a lot of trust in me," he teased.
"I can't trust you to take care of yourself," Shuri sighed.
She added, "Roy mentioned to Lene that you're researching divination and mystical powers. Is there anything I can help you with?"
Noran's smile faded slightly, thinking he should stop Roy from discussing his personal matters with Karlene.
"No, I'm already looking into it. You must never use your ability again, Rin," he said in a firm tone.
He didn't want Shuri to use her power and shorten her lifespan. He would do anything to prevent that from happening.
