At the hospital, dawn had broken.

She remained on IV-administered medication to prevent uterine contractions and stabilize the pregnancy.
The drugs made her heart race and her breathing shallow—like she couldn't quite catch her breath.
But she forced herself to remain calm. She didn't want Liam to worry.
From now on, she would need to stay in the hospital for continuous observation and medication. Only after a series of stable test results could she be discharged.
Still, the worst had passed.
Both of them quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

The baby was safe.
And Ava—his Ava—was safe, too.
Later, she said softly that she was hungry and craving multigrain porridge.
