"Isaac, you—" Alice opened her mouth to say something, but Isaac raised a finger to his lips.
"Shh. Emily might wake up. We should keep it quiet. You should know by know how she gets when she's drunk," he whispered.
"…Right. Let's let her sleep," she replied, her voice barely above a murmur.
Isaac moved closer. His hands found her waist, and with a gentle lift, he carried her to the bed, laying her on her back.
The dim light of the room cast soft shadows over her body, and Isaac paused, staring at her.
Alice looked up at him. Her face was framed by damp hair, and for a moment, embarrassment flickered in her eyes.
