He's training, swinging his sword at a wooden dummy at the center of the room. His back is facing me but I can see part of his face when he moves to strike the dummy.
But what is he doing here? I'm sure I would have been informed that he was returning earlier, but why in the middle of the night?

From the door, I continue to watch him train. His movements are rather fast and aggressive. He's slashing the dummy left, right, and center. Bits of wood are flying off making a mess on the floor. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for the dummy. Aren appeared to be angry. Why?
I'd never seen him like this before. I didn't know him that well to begin with, but for the most part never visibly full of anger.
What had happened to him?
With one final slash, he cuts what's left of the dummy in half and it falls to the floor. He then drops the sword and stands to look at the mess he's made as he catches his breath.
