Chapter 431 - Chapter 431: The Most Familiar Stranger - Part 3

Though Ye Wen's words were few, they carried a wealth of information.

Even someone as intelligent as Snow Empress was utterly baffled at this moment. Her delicate brows furrowed tightly as she stared intently at Ye Wen, trying to discern any hidden intentions from his handsome face.

Having lived for tens of thousands of years, Snow Empress was no naive fool. She understood well the principle that there was no such thing as a free lunch.

But with the current situation leaving her powerless, she didn't even have the courage to refuse.

After casting a tender glance at the little loli Ice Empress, Snow Empress asked in a low voice,

"What must I pay in return?"

"Nothing at all," Ye Wen replied softly, shaking his head.

Snow Empress's brows knitted even tighter. She couldn't fathom what this human before her truly wanted.

But it seemed… this human bore no malice.

As a being nurtured by nature itself, Snow Empress was not only one of the most gifted existences on Douluo Star but also possessed an innate ability to sense malicious intent.

The more time she spent with Ye Wen, the less wary she became, and the more she instinctively felt drawn to him.

Without thinking, Snow Empress asked,

"Why are you being so kind to me? We don't even know each other."

Ah, this.

Ye Wen was momentarily at a loss for words. He couldn't exactly say, "Because you look just like my wife, Snow Empress, and you're inherently valuable."

But seeing these two beauties, who seemed terrified he might whisk them away, looking at him with such suspicion, he realized he had to explain himself clearly.

Moreover, though his family life had been harmonious in his original timeline, it was because he hadn't strayed for many years. If some careless words caused misunderstandings, things at home would get messy.

Ye Wen carefully chose his words, then suddenly, his aura shifted dramatically.

"What is this!?" Snow Empress was the first to notice the anomaly.

This was different from the familiar sensation she had felt earlier—it was an even closer, more intimate presence.

Previously, Snow Empress had felt a sense of familiarity with Ye Wen because, in his original timeline, he had spent countless days with Snow Empress, subtly absorbing traces of her aura. As counterparts, their connection naturally felt intimate. Moreover, the Snow Empress of his original timeline, having ascended to godhood, exuded an even stronger aura, making Snow Empress instinctively feel submissive and drawn to him.

But now, the aura Ye Wen invoked wasn't that of his Snow Empress. Instead, through his earlier contact with Snow Empress, he had subtly connected with the plane consciousness of Douluo Star.

However, Ye Wen dared not make his movements too obvious. After all, Douluo Star was still under the control of the Douluo God Realm. He quietly linked with the plane consciousness without drawing attention.

Within the dimensional space of Douluo, the plane consciousness, weakened and dormant after nurturing the destined child of this era, stirred faintly.

"Hmm? This presence…"

An indistinguishable voice echoed in the void.

This sudden presence felt so familiar that the plane consciousness instinctively gravitated toward it.

"How strange… it shares the same origin as me, yet it's far stronger. What could it be?"

Driven by curiosity—and knowing that as long as Douluo Star existed, the plane consciousness was immortal—it began to interact with the presence Ye Wen projected.

A torrent of information exchanged at this moment. The previously feeble plane consciousness now radiated with renewed brilliance.

Meanwhile, the aura emanating from Ye Wen, standing in the Extreme North Ice Plains, grew even more intense, filling Snow Empress with an overwhelming sense of familiarity.

"*Ping~*"

A tear slid down Snow Empress's cold, elegant face, freezing into an icy bead in the biting wind before shattering silently on the ground.

"Sister, what's wrong?" Ice Empress asked with concern.

Snow Empress merely shook her head slightly, her gaze fervently fixed on Ye Wen.

Though tens of thousands of years had passed, this aura was one she could never forget—it was the presence that had nurtured her at her birth.

At this moment, deep within the Star Dou Forest—

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion, chasing its daily meal, suddenly froze in place, gazing toward the direction of the Extreme North Ice Plains.

A burly man clad in red martial attire, Chi Wang, appeared beside it immediately, asking with concern,

"Little one, what's wrong?"

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion's three eyes flickered with confusion before it shook its head and resumed hunting.

Despite possessing the bloodline of the Golden Dragon and being the Imperial Auspicious Beast, it lacked ancestral memories and relied solely on instinct. Without guidance from figures like Di Tian, even its extraordinary intelligence wouldn't elevate it much beyond an ordinary soul beast.

The disturbance Ye Wen caused was subtle. Aside from those favored by fate, almost no one noticed what he had done—not even the gods in the God Realm.

Ye Wen's aura gradually receded, but he was now fundamentally different.

Previously, as a mere avatar, he could sustain his existence by siphoning faith from the Sea God. But he had always been like a rootless floating weed. Now, having connected with the plane consciousness and receiving its full support, his avatar had become an independent entity—a coalesced embodiment of the plane's will.

From this point onward, the chaotic primordial spiritual energy of Douluo Star could be converted into divine power at Ye Wen's whim whenever he needed it.

Ye Wen remained silent, simply gazing at Snow Empress with calm eyes.

"Are… are you Him?" Snow Empress asked tremulously.

Ye Wen nodded kindly and whispered, "In a way, yes. But I am merely His executor.

So now, do you trust me?"

Snow Empress released Ice Empress's hand and stepped forward, performing what she considered the most reverent gesture possible.

"Everything shall be as you wish."

Ye Wen gently raised his hand, dispelling her solemn posture, and spoke softly,

"There's no need for this. I am not the master of this world. Everything I do is to restore greatness to Douluo Planet."

"Yes," Snow Empress replied with heartfelt conviction.

But Ice Empress, watching from the side, was utterly confused. She couldn't understand why her sister had undergone such a drastic change or what right this man had to make her sister bow so humbly.

At this moment, Ye Wen turned his gaze toward Ice Empress.

The soul spirit system—a shortsighted and ineffective framework—was something Ye Wen had no intention of promoting on Douluo Star in the future.

So what to do with Ice Empress?

Snow Empress grew somewhat bashful. After all, adversity revealed true feelings. Her younger sister had come to her aid in her darkest hour, proving her loyalty. Snow Empress didn't care about labels like yuri but felt she couldn't abandon her beloved sister.

One sheep or a flock—it made little difference. Having an extra helper in the future wouldn't hurt, so Ye Wen said,

"Little one, Snow Empress will offer herself as a sacrifice to the destined child of this planet and ascend to godhood in the future. Would you like to join her?"

Ice Empress was momentarily stunned, then quickly nodded.

Being just one step away from perfectly clinging to her sister, how could she possibly refuse?
