'Just my luck.' Raven clicked her tongue in annoyance as she sensed disturbance coming her way. The last thing she needed was any form of attention on herself until she returned to the Langston family manor.
'He seems like a slave.' Her gaze snapped towards the trembling person. Skinny. Covered in grime and scars both old and new. His clothes were a little more than rags. His hair overgrown and obviously unkempt. The stench clung to him—sweat, blood and rot.
''P-Please...''

''S-Save m-me.'' His voice cracked, fragile and desperate like a thread about to snap.
''...'' Raven remained in silence. Her disguised brown eyes met the shaky ones of the slave for a moment. She did not answer and merely cocked her head to the side.
''Why?'' She asked blankly.
''Why do I have to save you?'' Her voice, indifferent and cold, the same as her eyes. ''I don't remember having an obligation to save another.''
