Chapter 8 - 7. Safehouse : under section 115

Arjun : Sir, I need permission for the safehouse protection Act

Parthiban: "Safehouse protection act ? For a murder suspect?". Are you serious Arjun

Arjun takes a breath, voice tense but controlled as he explains everything — the suicide attempt, her condition, the pregnancy.

Arjun: "We don't have a choice right now. She's pregnant, mentally unstable, and vulnerable. I'm not willing to risk her life… or the baby's."

There's a long pause on the line. Parthiban says nothing at first. The silence stretches just long enough for Arjun to question if he's gone too far.

Parthiban : Alright, Arjun. I'll speak to the court and get the necessary clearance for Safehouse Protection."

(paused)

"But listen to me — this is on you. You initiated it, you own it. You're fully responsible for her safety. No mistakes."

Arjun: "I understand, sir. I'll make sure everything is under control."

Arjun ended the call. His jaw was tight, eyes focused. Atharva, who had been listening silently, finally spoke.

Atharva: Safehouse Protection? You really think the court will approve it… for her , Sir?

Arjun: They will. My senior CBI officer is handling it. we may get permission by evening . And I'll take full responsibility.

Atharva (nodding slowly): You really believe she's not guilty, don't you?

Arjun (quiet, firm): Guilt or not, she knows something. And until I get the full truth, I'm not letting her go—nor judging her. And I'll protect her, even if it means protecting her from herself.

The minutes bled into each other, stretching thin under the weight of silence. The corridor, once bustling with urgency, had grown still—too still. The hum of machines, the occasional distant footstep, and the rhythmic tapping of rain against the windows were the only reminders that time hadn't stopped entirely. The harsh white lights overhead cast long, unmoving shadows on the tiled floor. Arjun sat motionless, elbows on his knees, eyes fixed on the floor as though willing it to offer answers. Atharva leaned against the wall nearby, arms crossed, the tension in his posture mirroring the heaviness in the air. Every second dragged like an hour, and yet the hour passed, unnoticed—until finally, the door creaked open and footsteps approached.

Doctor (softly): She's regained consciousness. The sedatives have worn off.

Atharva (stepping forward): Can we see her?

Doctor (nodding gently): Yes. But don't push her. She's weak—and still processing a lot.

All entered the room . They saw Nithya lay on the hospital bed, pale and fragile, her breathing slow but steady. The faint beep of the heart monitor filled the quiet room, mingling with the soft rustle of hospital sheets. Her eyes fluttered open, glazed with confusion and exhaustion, reflecting the heavy weight of everything she'd been through. The sterile room felt cold and distant, contrasting sharply with the turmoil inside her.

Doctor: Nithya, how are you feeling?

Nithya (whispering, broken): Why did you save me? I wanted to die. I thought ending it was the only way out.

Arjun (stepping forward, voice calm but firm): Because giving up isn't the answer. You're stronger than you think, and we're not going to let you face this alone.

Nithya : Why should I live ? . No one is believing when i said i didn't kill Naveen. You said you believe me but....you also left me thinking the same . Then why should I live for ?

Arjun (softly, with care): Because there's someone else who needs you now—someone who's depending on you more than you realize.

Nithya (confused): What do you mean?

Arjun (gently): You're pregnant, Nithya. There's a life growing inside you. A chance for something new, something worth fighting for.

Nithya: N...n.no y..you a..are l..lying right ? . Doct..or h..he's l..lying right

Doctor : He's right Miss Nithya, you are 4 weeks pregnant .

Nithya's hands trembled uncontrollably as she brought them to her stomach, her body shaking with silent sobs. The pain of loss and a fragile hope collided within her, tears streaming down her face as she struggled to believe that the life she thought was gone might somehow be returning.

Arjun and the others remained quiet, their eyes fixed on Nithya as she grappled with the flood of emotions. The room was thick with unspoken tension, broken only by the soft beep of Arjun's phone. He glanced down and saw a message from Parthiban, his senior CBI officer. Carefully unlocking the screen, Arjun's eyes scanned the text—court permission for the Safehouse Act had just been approved. A flicker of relief and determination passed over his face as he pocketed the phone, knowing this was for the best .

Arjun : Doctor, can you arrange discharge papers . we have to leave now . Atharva , you check whether everything is ready to leave .

Atharva : yes sir ( saluted and left )

Arjun stood quietly by Nithya's side, watching her break down in silence. The sterile hospital light cast soft shadows across her face, now streaked with tears. She sat curled slightly, her trembling hand resting on her stomach as if trying to protect what little hope she had left. Arjun didn't speak—he didn't need to. His presence was steady, grounding, as if holding back the chaos of the world outside that room. A part of him ached seeing her like this—broken, afraid, and fragile—yet there was something unspoken in his gaze: a promise that she wouldn't have to face any of it alone.

Atharva came inside the room little worried .

Atharva: Sir, the media's gathered right at the hospital entrance. We can't get through without being noticed. What's the plan?

Arjun (pausing briefly, then decisive): Arrange for my car to be brought around to the back. And make absolutely sure no one follow it.

Atharva left again leaving Arjun and Nithya . Arjun's eyes fell on Nithya who calmed down little but drained and weak . Atharva came back telling car is ready

Arjun : Nithya , we have to leave now to a place for protection . can you able to walk ? .

Nithya nodded and tried to rise from the bed, but her legs gave way beneath her. Before she could fall, Arjun caught her effortlessly, wrapping his arms around her to steady her. Without a word, he lifted her up and held her close, steady and protective. Arjun told Atharva to cover her face with a scarf for safety and walked towards backside of the hospital . Atharva followed them behind . they reached the car parked waiting for them . Arjun made Nithya sit in the backseat and went to driver seat and told Atharva to leave to station to collect any clues for the case . Arjun took off car to the safehouse . No one knows where the safehouse is located except Arjun and Partiban . Hours passed , Arjun looked at Nithya through rear mirror saw her asleep due to tiredness .

After sometime , they reached the secret location which is surrounded by trees . it was very simple yet beautiful. Arjun woke Nithya up and got down from the car

(something like this)

Arjun : This is my family 's guest house . No one knows where this place is except me and my senior officer . i want to monitor you to make sure you doesn't try to do something , so only we are in this safehouse . My senior officer made every arrangement for the stay . come let's go inside.

Arjun and nithya entered the house . The interior of the house was a perfect reflection of its serene exterior—minimalist, elegant, and calming. Large glass doors and windows flooded the rooms with natural light during the day, offering gentle views of the surrounding forest. The living room was open and airy, with neutral-toned furniture, soft lighting, and wooden accents that added warmth without clutter. A modern kitchen sat quietly in one corner, its matte finishes and sleek surfaces blending effortlessly with the overall aesthetic. Upstairs, the bedrooms were cozy yet spacious, their clean lines softened by earth-toned linens and subtle textures. Everything in the house was designed for comfort, calm, and quiet protection—an oasis hidden in the woods.

Arjun told Nithya to go bed as it was late . Suddenly ,Arjun got call from Atharva . he attended the call

Atharva : Sir we got the camera footage of the murder night
