Sera's Pov
The sky above her was the shade of dawn just before the sun peeked through—soft lilac streaked with gold. The trees towered around her, their leaves shimmering with an otherworldly glow. The air smelled like rain-kissed citrus and wildflowers, and somewhere in the distance, something sparkled—maybe a river, maybe her thoughts. It was her dreamscape, after all. Anything was possible here.
Except, apparently, getting Lucian to climb a damn tree.
"I'm not doing it," he said, arms folded, scowling up at the fruit-laden branches like they'd personally offended him.
