Chapter 70
The party was in full swing, and I was starting to fear that Finn's prediction would come true. Port Black might not survive the night.
The town was quite literally on fire. Who would've known that pirates were such huge pyromaniacs? Flames licked the tops of buildings, dancing from rooftop to rooftop, and yet, no one seemed particularly concerned.
In fact, they carried on with their celebrations, hollering and betting on which building would fall first. Music blared from somewhere deep in the city. Off-key fiddles and drums that sounded like someone had rolled a barrel full of angry raccoons down a staircase.
And then there were the goats.
Somewhere in the distance, a group of particularly enthusiastic pirates had turned a catapult into a makeshift goat-launcher. A terrified goat soared through the air, bleating wildly before crash-landing into a pile of hay that immediately caught fire. The crowd roared with approval.
