Chapter 290 - Chapter 290: A Three–Way Standoff

A silver glow flashed, and a figure appeared on the other side of the dragon soul. It was Gu Yue, her silver hair flowing freely after releasing her seal.

Looking toward Xu Yuan and Tang Wulin, Gu Yue's gaze carried a hint of coldness.

These two had indeed come here, their target being the Dragon God's dragon soul.

She stared at them, her killing intent rising.

The sudden appearance of another person shocked Tang Wulin. He looked at the unfamiliar silver figure, bewildered by how she had arrived.

From her presence, Tang Wulin sensed another powerful bloodline force—a dragon race bloodline no weaker than his own Golden Dragon King bloodline.

With a flash of insight, he immediately recognized the source of that bloodline.

The Silver Dragon King!

Without the distractions of past entanglements with Gu Yue, encountering a bloodline equal in strength to his Golden Dragon King allowed him to instantly deduce its origin.

However, precisely because there were no lingering ties, he failed to recognize the silver figure before him as the familiar Gu Yue.

Over the years, Gu Yue had never used any of the sealed powers within her, shown no signs of dragon bloodline energy, and hadn't performed any spirit fusion techniques with Tang Wulin. Naturally, he knew nothing about her bloodline situation.

Feeling the killing intent, Tang Wulin stepped forward, his Golden Dragon King bloodline surging. Above his head, the essence of the Golden Dragon King materialized into a vivid, golden dragon phantom.

Here, his bloodline had been nurtured to an unprecedented level, reaching its peak.

He could attempt to fuse the sixth seal at any moment.

This was his confidence.

He believed that he could now fuse the sixth seal at will, seize the power of the Dragon God's dragon soul, and perhaps quickly push toward the seventh seal afterward.

If successful, his strength would skyrocket far beyond its current level.

Two seals represented the addition of a blood essence soul ring—not just a single rank increase.

Having already unlocked five layers of the Golden Dragon King's seals, his pure blood essence power allowed him to stand toe-to-toe with a Soul King without fear. Even with inferior battle armor, he still held his ground.

Unlocking two more seals would have undeniable significance.

His blood essence power would directly reach the explosive level of a Soul Sage!

This was Tang Wulin's deduction.

Though he couldn't confirm it yet—he hadn't unlocked those two seals or fused them—but based on his past experiences, the power granted by the Golden Dragon King's seals followed this calculation.

An explosion at the Soul Sage level, possibly even slightly higher, placing him among the top tier of Soul Sages.

With just this raw power alone, in the Dragon Valley, he might even be able to fight Xu Yuan!

Thus, Tang Wulin was feeling extremely confident.

He even stepped forward, positioning himself ahead of Xu Yuan.

"Golden Dragon Shakes the Heavens!"

He reversed his blood essence, but instead of launching an attack, he let out a mighty roar, emitting a dragon cry.

Gu Yue's gaze turned icy, her killing intent toward Tang Wulin unmistakable.

This was the power of the Golden Dragon King.

And Tang Wulin was human.

He had stolen the power of the Golden Dragon King, seizing half of the Dragon God's strength.

In response, a dragon cry echoed from within her. Unlike Tang Wulin's domineering and frenzied roar, her dragon cry was crisp and clear, cleansing the mind and bringing clarity.

Of course, like his, her dragon cry also carried an oppressive force.

Xu Yuan stood quietly, observing the standoff between the two. Silently, he raised the imprint in his hand.

The bloodline power of the nine Dragon Kings and countless dragons from their tribes erupted, squeezing Tang Wulin and Gu Yue's blood essence forces aside and forcibly carving out a third territory.

The area surrounding the Dragon God's dragon soul in the sky split into three parts.

One part—also the largest—was occupied by silver light, belonging to Gu Yue.

Another part was claimed by crimson-gold light, belonging to Tang Wulin.

The third part belonged to Xu Yuan, a chaotic mix of colors that eventually merged into an indistinct haze.

A three-way standoff.

"You dare interfere!" Gu Yue glared at Xu Yuan, her voice filled with fury.

You, who have no dragon bloodline, dare to covet a share of this power?

Xu Yuan's expression remained calm.

"I represent the other Dragon Kings. You two merely inherited parts of the Dragon God's essence—you are not incarnations of the Dragon God." His tone was composed as he continued, "The power of the nine Dragon Kings also originated from the Dragon God, making us fundamentally the same. Since we are all Dragon Kings, why shouldn't I have the right to a share?"

"You!"

Gu Yue's eyebrows shot up, her pupils transforming into vertical silver slits as she glared at Xu Yuan. The world's primal energy trembled, expressing her rage.

"Moreover," Xu Yuan added, "I believe using the Dragon God's power to do something for the current dragon race is far more practical than either of your plans."

Gu Yue fell silent, unable to argue.

Tang Wulin frowned, confused.

Xu Yuan's words sounded noble and righteous.

Indeed, Gu Yue sought the Dragon God's dragon soul to plan for the future of soul beasts, not the dragon race. Tang Wulin aimed to enhance himself, driven by the hidden hand of the Sea God, hoping to recreate the Dragon God's bloodline and forge a new Dragon God divine position.

But neither of them planned for the dragon race.

The dragon race was the leader of the soul beast race, but the two were ultimately separate concepts.

Gu Yue, having lost the vast dragon race, focused on restoring the soul beasts' former glory—a reasonable pursuit. But faced with Xu Yuan's intention to help revive the dragon race, she had to concede somewhat.

Of course, all of this depended on whether Xu Yuan truly intended to use the power obtained from the Dragon God's dragon soul for the dragon race's revival.

Looking at the imprint in Xu Yuan's hand, Gu Yue felt there was no need for her to judge his intentions.

Nine Dragon Kings had already placed their bets.

Tang Wulin's expression showed slight confusion.

He was utterly baffled.

What plans?

How did I not know about this?

"Sigh, child, make your move," a distant voice in his consciousness urged Tang Wulin.

The Golden Dragon King bloodline within Tang Wulin surged explosively, quickly peaking.

A strand of blue-gold energy quietly approached the dragon soul.

Gu Yue shouted, "Such audacity!"

She infused her spiritual power into the Dragon God's dragon soul, causing it to vibrate violently.

The dragon soul's power instantly became turbulent, shattering the strand of blue-gold energy.

Xu Yuan kept a close eye on Tang Wulin, wary of Old Tang attempting a sneak attack.

However, Old Tang clearly lacked the strength to launch such an attack at the moment.

That strand of blue-gold energy was one of the few remnants of his power. After being shattered by the dragon soul's force, Old Tang's remaining strength could only assist Tang Wulin in absorbing the sixth seal.

Above Tang Wulin's head, the phantom of the Golden Dragon King let out a heaven-shaking roar.

Two golden halos formed beneath his feet.

Soon, a new golden soul ring rapidly condensed, aligning itself alongside the two existing golden soul rings.
