If there is one amazing ability Meadow has… it's hearing things from a distance. This has helped her to acquire useful information… and gossips over the years.
And if there's another thing I know about her, her information is never wrong. And from the look on her face…
It's not something pleasant either.
My stomach clenches as I ask the next question.
"What kind of talk?"
Meadow hesitates as she moves over to me, helping me off the floor. She gets me to the bed and steps away.
"Meadow…"I call and she sighs.
Her voice lowers as she looks at me.
"It's gossip among the maids. A rumour. They're saying that… well… that Prince Kealith doesn't love you. That … that there's no way your marriage was consummated last night." She says and I pause.
