As Saiguu and Nawaki continued their journey toward the designated location, the moment Kadoya's Shadow Clone stepped closer to the border of the Land of Rain, it suddenly dispelled itself in a puff of smoke.
In less than a second, Kadoya appeared behind them, his presence sudden, silent, and completely natural, as though he had always been there.
"Kadoya!" Nawaki turned, startled. "Did you find anything useful on the bodies?"
Kadoya glanced at him, voice flat and even. "They were reduced to ash."
Nawaki: "…"
Saiguu sighed, rolling her eyes. Of course. The jutsu was literally called Burn to Ash. What did Nawaki expect, charred intel documents from burned corpses?
She had thought of that already, but hadn't bothered saying it aloud. She trusted Kadoya. Whatever he had done, there was a reason behind it; no need to question him.
"Tch. Fine, whatever. Here." Feeling mocked more than answered, Nawaki tossed a large supply scroll at Kadoya.
He caught it effortlessly, eyes still calm, indifferent.
"Let's move." Kadoya said.
The trio pressed on, now officially crossing into the Land of Rain.
What had been a cool breeze earlier had turned into a bitter wind, laced with sheets of falling rain. The skies above them were thick with dark clouds, and thunder rumbled softly in the distance.
"Ugh. This rain's ridiculous," Nawaki muttered, pulling his jacket tighter around himself. "I hate rainy weather."
The downpour soaked through their clothes, dripping from their forehead protectors. Each step squelched against the muddied path as the storm welcomed them into hostile territory.
They had entered the Land of Rain.
"In the sky!" Saiguu called out, her Byakugan still active and veins pulsing around her eyes.
The team immediately looked up, high above, a massive bird circled overhead, barely visible through the falling rain. Riding atop it was shinobi.
At that altitude, conventional ninjutsu wouldn't reach. The enemy was clearly using the height for reconnaissance, well beyond the range of most attacks.
Then came the downpour, not of rain, but of kunai.
Each one carried multiple explosive tags.
"Explosive tags again!?" Kadoya grit his teeth, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face. "Damn it, Nawaki! Are you cursed to die by one of these things!?"
Nawaki: "Ehhh!??"
Reacting without hesitation, Kadoya didn't even bother with hand seals. His right fist clenched and erupted into roaring flame.
"Fire Style: Fire Fist!"
A massive blaze in the shape of a clenched fist shot upward, intercepting the kunai mid-air. A chain of explosions erupted above, rocking the sky with violent booms. Flaming debris and scattered sparks rained down as the air rippled from the shockwaves.
Just how many enemies did Danzo snitch to!?
They were supposed to be a simple Genin escort squad for supply transport, and yet here they were, hunted down by multiple squads. Kadoya wanted to complain, but glancing back, he saw the exhaustion on his team's faces. They'd been on the move all day, clashing with both Sky and Rock shinobi. And now, more enemies approached.
His eyes flicked back to the airborne enemy.
Another Iwa-nin, a different squad. The red uniforms confirmed it. That meant the earlier Iwagakure group hadn't reported back yet… probably because they were already dead, killed before they could warn anyone.
If only they'd arrived after Kadoya finished Senhinoha. Maybe they would've walked away alive.
Luckily, this group didn't seem large, just a scout team. No real numbers for a full-on assault.
"Quick, take cover!" Kadoya barked. Without question, Team 7 darted into the nearby forest, vanishing beneath the canopy.
The large bird screeched, trying to veer away as the fire fist surged toward it. The flames evaporated rain in a flash of steam, singing feathers and scorching the creature's wing. It barely escaped with its rider intact.
"That flame…" the Iwa captain muttered, eyes wide with disbelief. Rain and sweat mixed on his brow. "It nearly killed us."
Perched atop a tree branch, Kadoya watched them carefully, crimson Sharingan locked onto his target. His hand flicked into a shuriken, he crushed it, turning it into a few metal coin. With a flick of his wrist, he held a single coin up.
Electricity crackled around him, golden and white, arcing through the falling rain. His tomoe spun faster. Using only his thumb, he flicked the coin forward.
His chakra surged. Tsunade's training had honed his control to a level almost identical to her; now, he could shape and channel Lightning Style with frightening precision. Enough to create a magnetic field strong enough to launch metal at supersonic speeds.
"Lightning Style: Railgun!"
A deafening crack split the air as the coin launched at Mach 2, leaving a sonic boom in its wake. The force blew back his soaked hair, rippled through the trees, and parted the rainfall like a cannon.
The enemy didn't even have time to scream, as the coin hit.
Boom!
Flesh, bone, blood, obliterated in the blink of an eye. The bird disintegrated midair. The Iwa shinobi above it was reduced to nothing more than falling viscera.
Kadoya exhaled, lowering his slightly scorched hand. His Sharingan focused solely on the sky as blood and broken feathers rained down from above.
"Let's move a bit from here, set up camp, and fall back. We need to rest." Although Kadoya could still move thanks to his strong vitality and powerful lungs. He could see his teammate was exhausted, so he decide to give them some face by saying "we" instead of "you".
Nawaki was breathing heavily, clearly exhausted. While Saiguu was beginning to feel the strain from overusing her Byakugan.
The three quickly headed toward a nearby cave and began setting up camp. Kadoya took charge of creating seals to hide their presence, Saiguu began cooking using the ingredients she brought, Nawaki...
The idiot said he was too tired to even stand, so he is just sitting in the corner like a lazy dog with his tongue out.
After the group finished eating, before going to rest, Kadoya threw Nawaki under the bus and made him the first to stay on guard while he and Saiguu rested.
Nawaki originally protested, but when Kadoya began to point out, ever since running into the enemies they face, he has been the one doing most of the heavy lifting in their team. Saiguu has overused her Byakugan, while Nawaki almost got them killed by stepping on some explosive tags.
At least by then, he has the decency to look ashamed and stay on night watch while letting the other two rest.
After some time, Nawaki switched places with Kadoya, letting their temporary team leader stay on watch while he happily went to sleep without a care.
Yup, this idiot really doesn't suit the ninja life.
Kadoya couldn't help but think, seeing Nawaki fall asleep the moment he lay down and closed his eyes, even snoring loudly. Turning to Saiguu, although she was also asleep, he could see that her left hand had already formed the triggering seal to activate her Nightmare Pain.
Kadoya stays watch alongside his Frogadier, Kuriboh, and Shirohebi. Which looks more like he is playing cards with his summons.
"Four of a kind!" Shirohebi said, placing down four queens.
"Kuri!" (Uno!) Kuriboh places down a +4 Uno card.
"Go Greninja EX!" Frogadier places down his ghost rare Greninja EX Pokémon Card.
"Here comes my Favorite Hero, Evil HERO Inferno Wing!" Kadoya places down the Fusion monster E-HERO Inferno Wing.
The four look at each other for a bit.
"I think we've been playing the wrong games." Shirohebi said, already understanding her summoner's randomness, so she just decided to play along instead of getting all worked up about it.
"You think?" Frogadier asks, looking at the large white snake sitting next to him.
"Kuri!" The little fur ball seems to agree. With whom? No one knows.
"Hmmm." Kadoya looked down at the card in his hand, wondering if he could get Inferno Wing as a summon similar to the Kuriboh sitting beside him right now.
Although he has a chance, but the sheer randomness of his system makes it hard for him to obtain the sexy female Evil Hero as one of his summons. Plus, the large number of summonable beings that could be considered summons, Kadoya highly doubts that he could get his sexy female Evil Hero.
Speaking of his system, Kadoya narrowed his gaze toward his 16,092 Evil Points. Thanks to the multiple murders he committed today, he has managed to get enough Evil Points to convert into 6 System Points combined with his previous 4 System Points.
Now with 10 System Points, Kadoya decides to pull his Gacha Rolls.
Congratulations! [New!] Signed Summoning Contract: Arsene, Hamon, [New!] Fairy Plate, [New!] Bloody Rose, [New!] Musical Mastery, [New!] Deepest Harpoon, [New!] Fire Style: Skydive Scorcher, [New!] Our Share Glass of Red Wine, [New!] Thompson Contender, [New!] Lightning Style: Dark Flash, [New!] Ninja Art: Skill Shock
Kadoya leaned back against the cave wall, checking out his reward while his summons were doing their job of keeping watch. Shirohebi is using her White Snake Legion to help keep an eye out for any passing enemy shinobi that might come too close to their hiding spot.
Frogadier has fallen back to training Senjutsu, wanting to shorten the time needed to enter Sage Mode even further.
Kuriboh has dispelled itself, returning to who knows where.
"Arsene, huh... interesting." He murmurs, a smirk forming on his lips. Just by the name itself, Kadoya could already guess what this summon of his is gonna look like, along with his personality.
And he must say, the flame of rebellion kinda fit him in a way.
"Hamon... didn't I already have this?" He questions before looking into his system and sees that his Hamon has upgraded from Level 10 to 11. "Oh, so that's how it worked."
Looking at the Fairy Plate, Kadoya still didn't fully understand the uses of these Plates. All he knew was that sealing them inside his body actually gave him some special effect.
Like how the Psychic Plate increases his resistance and proficiency in Genjutsu. Bug Plate actually strengthens the string from his String Release. The Metal Plate increases the iron inside him and makes his bones stronger. And the Dark Plate effect is shown when he temporarily becomes Kadoya Alter, even when moving at the speed of light, his dark, malicious aura could still be sensed by the Chunin to Jonin level shinobi that he passed by in less than a second.
Even the Poison Plate gives him some poison resistance. After drinking Kushina's plum juice, Minato got food poisoning, while he just got a headache and a temporary loss of his ahoge before it eventually grew back.
So now, even with the Fairy Plate, and not knowing what it does, Kadoya still decides to seal it inside his body.
Music Mastery is pretty self-explanatory.
Bloody Rose, if Kadoya recalls correctly, this is the violin in Kamen Rider Kiva. From what he could remember, Bloody Rose in Kiva's hand is just a violin that will sound itself whenever a violent Fangire is detected in the area, while in Ohma Zi-O's hand, he could summon and control a colony of energy bats.
Although Kadoya is pretty sure that Ohma Zi-O could do it without Bloody Rose.
But when holding the violin in his hand, he could sense the dark aura lingering inside it, so he was pretty sure he could summon a colony of energy bats with it, so he sealed the violin inside himself, letting him harness its power.
The Deepest Harpoon is a 2 meter large crimson halberd used by Kamon Rider Poseidon, this weapon has the power to release a blue energy slash. So he seals it inside himself, hoping that one day he could just swing his water blades and send out a blue energy slash toward his opponent.
[Our Share Glass of Red Wine] - After taking the first time of the opposite sex, the host will gain an extraordinary power from the opposite sex. While the one who shares their first "glass of red wine" with the host will gain a special power from the host that's most compatible with them.
Kadoya: "..."
Kadoya was somewhat speechless seeing this passive skill.
To put it short, he could get more power by having sex with females, but it only worked if those females were virgins.
Damn! He already inherited Tsunade's love for gambling. Orochimaru's disregard for human life. Now with this skill, won't it just mean that he would eventually become a playboy!?
This basically makes him become like Jiraiya, but instead of being a pervert, he is a playboy, taking women first time instead of peeping on them.
Recalling that he has a chained hidden mission, "The Student of the Three Sanin". With him already training under two out of the three, and inheriting their worst trait, and up it to eleven.
He gambles like Tsunade but has a 100% win rate.
He disregards human life to the point that even Orochimaru would say, "Kadoya, that is a bit too extreme!"
And now, thanks to this new passive skill, it seems that instead of becoming a pervert, he would become a playboy.
"It's okay, as long as I don't use it, I won't become an even worse version of Jiraiya." Kadoya murmurs to himself.
Before pulling out the Thompson Contender, a simple gun that could fit an armor-piercing sniper bullet.
"If I have something like gunpowder release, I might be able to just make bullets out of my bone without wasting money searching for gunpowder." He said.
After all, in the current time when shinobi reign supreme, science and technology have not yet developed to that point.
Guns currently don't have much use in this world, since a single C-Rank fire ninjutsu is enough to overpower a simple gun, so the research on gunpowder didn't get much notice.
Leading to gunpowder being deemed useless by many, since explosive tags could be made with a single chakra paper, along with some fire chakra. You don't have to search for gunpowder and carefully harvest it to avoid causing it to explode on your face.
"Tch! Not training my Fire Release really did come back to bite me." He murmurs, realizing his current level of Fire Chakra transformation would most likely cause the tags to explode on his face if he tries to create it now.
Shrugging, Kadoya decides to spend all of his saved-up Ninja Points on his Fire Release.
Fire Attribute Level 6 (1930/3000)
Now with better control over his Fire Chakra transformation, Kadoya created a Shadow Clone.
"Alright make me some explosive seal." Kadoya said with a smile, and the Shadow Clone narrowed his gaze toward the snoring Nawaki before asking.
"You want to make your own explosive tag to blow Nawaki up?"
Kadoya: "..."
