Chapter 142 - Chapter 138: Twisting the Demon King into a God

Thanks for the review my boy @Coala_Voador. That finally gives the fic a proper rating.

For that, here's the additional 2 chapters.

========================================

The towering black flame-clad hand reached out and grasped the counterclockwise-rotating magic circle in the sky.

Their collision caused a burst of abnormal lightning across the heavens, lightning that seemed as if it would tear the sky apart.

Then, some of that lightning struck down toward the earth.

"BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM—!"

Explosions erupted all around, and among their thunderous echoes were mixed the anguished screams of countless devils.

As the towering hand clenched tighter, the spinning magic circle halted. Then came the sound of cracks, like shattering glass.

At last, with a snap, the magic formation shattered into countless motes of light and dispersed into the air.

Immediately afterward, the black hand also dissolved into a misty rain.

In that moment, Ariadoa, who stood upon the altar, felt nothing but despair.

If that weapon hadn't appeared, she might still have had the strength to sacrifice herself to send the innocent girl who was caught up in this mess out of this world. But the black hand conjured by the weapon, and the darkness it exuded, left her with no room to resist.

The next second, two figures surged forward like a raging storm, heading straight for the floating scepter in the sky.

"Get lost!"

One figure was kicked away in an instant—that was the fallen goddess.

Then the Demon King appeared, unable to suppress her ecstatic excitement as she reached for the so-called anti-divine Sin Armament.

At the moment her hand closed around it, the Demon King looked like she was in sheer bliss.

She was evolving again—her body swelled and became more grotesque, and then shed its skin like a snake. As her warty, toad-like exterior peeled away, an astonishing new presence was revealed.

"W-What—?!"

From Ariadoa's trembling lips came a voice filled with disbelief.

The aura emanating from that form was one she recognized all too well—it was identical to the divine energy that pervaded the Unified Divine Realm.

"Divine energy?! No way... That has to be a lie!!!"

What appeared before Ariadoa's eyes was a shocking sight.

As the grotesque outer layer was stripped away, what emerged was a stunningly beautiful goddess, with pure white swan-like wings spread behind her.

More than that, the divine aura radiating from her was no different from that of a high-ranking god of the Unified Divine Realm—no, she was already approaching the level of the Supreme Goddess.

What kind of sick joke is this?

A being that was clearly an evil Demon King had transformed into a holy goddess. If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, no one could possibly believe it—anyone would think this was a righteous, orderly, kind goddess.

It utterly shattered Ariadoa's understanding of the world. The same Demon King who had massacred countless humans had now become a being of divine sanctity.

It was as if someone were declaring to her that day was actually night, and night was actually day—an utterly impossible reversal of the universe's truths.

Ariadoa's mind went blank with chaos.

"So this is what it feels like to be a god? Not bad at all."

From the Demon King's seductive lips came a heavenly, musical voice. Even Ariadoa, who heard it, felt her anxious heart calm.

"You don't get it? It's simple—this scepter contains a power of distortion. It twisted me, a Demon King, to the opposite extreme—into a god."

The explanation made Ariadoa shudder violently. How could such a broken, cheating thing exist?

"Too bad. Now that I'm a god, I can't use it so freely anymore."

The Demon King spoke with a trace of regret as her hand, which gripped the scepter, began to char as if clutching a red-hot iron rod.

The next second, the Demon King who had turned into a divine goddess showed a sinister expression on her once-radiant face. Her once-fair skin was now being consumed by darkness.

Especially those pure white wings on her back—the feathers began to fall off, turning into black ash, until the wings themselves became pitch black.

This was a god falling into corruption—a descent into an evil god.

At that moment, Ariadoa sensed a terrifying, seductive evil. She had no doubt that any ordinary human who saw it would be utterly enthralled—body and soul—and immediately fall to the side of evil.

Now transformed into an evil god, the Demon King gripped the scepter, and the aura she released in an instant nearly crushed Ariadoa.

The Demon King was evolving once again.

A terrifying pillar of black light shot into the sky, as if piercing through the heavens themselves, shaking the entire world.

At the same time—In the Unified Divine Realm.

The Supreme Goddess Ishtar had only just parted ways with the Valkyrie.

After exiting a room of suspended time, she traveled the winding path into the Deep Divine Realm and finally reached the Deep Divine Temple.

As she prepared to kneel before the three gods of the Deep Divine Realm—

"Oh no—!"

The one who suddenly spoke in alarm was the most elegant figure among the three.

Behind her were sealed pure white wings, usually hidden among the goddesses of the Unified Divine Realm, and she radiated an aura of supreme holiness.

Her flawless body was adorned with a dazzlingly brilliant gown. Her long hair was tied behind her back, and her appearance was more beautiful than any goddess.

She was the Goddess of Time—Chronoa.

"What's wrong, Chronoa?"

A deep, authoritative voice rang out. It belonged to a muscular male god nearly five meters tall, with a beard and a solemn face—the God of Law, Nemeshil.

"One of the seals has been broken."

"What seal was broken? Don't tell me you just want an excuse to leave the Deep Divine Realm again!"

Nemeshil, like an overly strict older brother, didn't want his mischievous little sister sneaking out to cause trouble again. His stern voice was accompanied by a sharp glare at Chronoa.

"Don't forget—we were partly responsible for the Divine Realm Unification War back then. We're not supposed to interfere anymore!"

After he repeated his warning, Chronoa sulked and returned to her divine seat.

"Fine, fine. So we're just going to ignore that the Sin Armament—the Scepter of Distortion—has been unsealed."

She muttered in a low voice.

"Right, the Sin Armament that got unsealed—wait, what?!"

Nemeshil, who had seemed completely unshakable until now, was visibly stunned.

"You're not joking? That's the most dangerous artifact aside from that sword!"

"I'm not joking. The temporal reversal seal I placed on it has been broken."

As Chronoa spoke, she waved her slender hand, and the air distorted to form a glowing screen.

First, the screen displayed tremors rocking the Unified Divine Realm.

"Yadetre is ascending toward an SSS-level world difficulty."

The tremors in the screen showed that the Unified Divine Realm was being affected by the upheaval in another world—Yadetre. It was a warning sign.

Upon hearing the name "Yadetre," Ishtar's face instantly turned deathly pale.

Then, the screen of the Unified Divine Realm faded to black and gradually came into clearer focus.

"Ariadoa…"

Ishtar saw a small, blurry figure shielding someone—and recognized her immediately. It was Ariadoa.

Then she looked at the Demon King holding the so-called Scepter of Distortion.

The Demon King seemed to sense the Divine Realm's gaze and gave them a mocking smile.

In the next instant, a phantom figure began to manifest behind the Demon King, shaking the very gods sitting on their divine thrones to their core—they stood up in shock.
