Chapter 2 - The boy.

In the midst of the night, a lone figure in a raincoat braved the fierce winds and torrential rain of a thunderstorm, trudging through the forest in search of something elusive. Shivering, he pressed on, contemplating his predicament.

"Great, I'm lost. Now what..." he muttered to himself as he navigated the muddy trail, realizing that finding what he sought was becoming increasingly challenging. The storm showed no mercy.

Aware that seeking shelter under a natural canopy in the forest was his only option if he couldn't locate his destination, the boy forged ahead. The situation looked grim.

However, in the distance, a dim light flickered, attached to something discernible.

"That's gotta be it!" the boy exclaimed, summoning the last of his energy as he sprinted toward the beckoning light.

"I found it!" he declared upon reaching the cozy cabin he had been searching for. A knock echoed through the door.

"Hello, is there anybody in there?" he cautiously inquired, noticing the lights were already on. The boy decided to enter the cabin.

"Well, I'm finally here now, so it's time to rest," he affirmed, making his way toward a prepared bed.

The cabin, adorned with a sizable fireplace against the back wall and beds at each corner, lacked separate bedrooms. A wooden kitchen occupied one corner near the front entrance. Despite the absence of traditional sleeping quarters, three neatly arranged beds awaited.

As the boy settled in for the night, preparing for a much-needed rest, he couldn't help but reflect on the journey that led him from home to the comforting haven of the cabin.

He hoped for a peaceful night's sleep, but uncertainties lingered in the air.
