AT THE LATE EVENING
AT THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE CITY
MICHAEL'S POINT OF VIEW:
We stood gathered around Isabella and Felix as the last few lines of code flickered across her tablet. A low chime rang out a sound that shouldn't have meant much, but it hit like thunder. Felix looked up, eyes wide.
"We got it."He said.
Isabella zoomed in on the blinking map marker now glowing on the screen. It was faint but unmistakable a locked node, nestled deep in the industrial ruins just outside the city. The place had been sealed off since the start of the war. No digital trace had pinged from that zone in years.
"That's where it's hiding." Isabella whispered. "That's where the system's real core is. Not the flashy HQ from their commercials. This is the one they never wanted anyone to see."
Soren rubbed the back of his neck.
"Creepy abandoned factory with a secret server room? Of course that's where the villain lives."Soren grinned.
