Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: Unexpected Encounter!

When he saved more than ten people in one breath from the hands of the out-of-control robot, he was finally targeted by the robot. Its eyes, which seemed to serve only as decoration, emitted a dazzling red light, then it raised its giant mechanical hand and smashed it toward Aiden.

Seeing the mechanical hand smashing toward him, Aiden pushed the old man he had just helped up to the side, then jumped aside and dodged.

BOOM!

The giant mechanical arm had astonishing power, directly smashing a big pit where Aiden had originally been standing.

And just as the robot was preparing to raise its arm again, Aiden made a new move. He directly jumped onto the robot's arm, ran along the arm toward the robot's head, and at the same time pulled out the epic revolver, pulling the trigger toward the robot's head.

Although Kaili's psychic-shadow revolver fired only ordinary bullets, as an epic weapon, even if its special effect was not activated or empowered by psychic energy, its power was still not weak. After a few shots, the external armor that even Shinra soldiers' weapons could not scratch had several deep dents blasted into it.

After Aiden emptied the bullets in the revolver, he had already run up to the front of the robot's head. Then he stepped on the robot's head, leaped into the air, and while flipping midair, reloaded the revolver. When his body dropped down again, he pulled the trigger at the robot.

Of course, Aiden could have used his gunman skills and also activated the epic revolver's special effect with psychic energy, but after saving that woman, Aiden recognized her.

Scarlet.

Head of the Shinra Company's Weapons Development Department. A dazzlingly charming bad woman.

So, Aiden didn't want to be too flashy, only wanting to show himself to be a bit stronger than an ordinary Shinra special forces soldier.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

After landing, Aiden continued shooting at the robot, especially targeting the head and joint areas of the legs, since compared to the torso, those parts were relatively weaker.

After firing dozens of bullets in succession, one of the robot's mechanical legs began to spark and emit arcs of electricity. Then, accompanied by the sound of metal tearing, that mechanical leg detached from the body.

Losing one mechanical leg, it also completely lost all balance. Its massive body slammed heavily to the ground, creating a loud boom.

But it still used its hands to claw along the ground toward Aiden, because robots had no sense of pain or emotion. Its processing terminal had only one goal, to kill the human in front of it.

Looking at the robot crawling toward him, Aiden frowned. To be honest, without using psychic energy and skills, he really didn't have a way to completely take this guy down.

As if seeing his difficulty, Scarlet, who had been holding the flower basket and watching the battle from not far away, shouted loudly, "Its processor is on its back, there's a very obvious interface there!"

Aiden glanced at her, nodded, then leapt up, jumped onto the robot's back, and pulled the trigger at the interface.

Although the armor there was also thick, all of Aiden's shots hit the same spot. After a few shots, he really did manage to shoot through it.

The robot, whose processor had been attacked, began to twitch uncoordinatedly. Accompanied by a large amount of pungent gas emerging from its body, it completely stopped moving.

"Phew!"

Aiden let out a breath, put away the revolver, then walked in front of Scarlet, intending to retrieve his flower basket.

But at that moment, Scarlet suddenly pulled her hand back, causing Aiden to grab at empty air.

"This is my stuff." Aiden frowned and said, "I only let you hold it, and I also just saved you."

"I know you saved me, so I'll properly thank you in the future. As for these flowers, just now they were yours, but now they're mine." Scarlet hugged the flower basket and said with a chuckle, "I want to buy them."

"Fine then, pay up." Aiden directly stretched out his hand.

Scarlet nodded and was about to take out money, but her body suddenly stiffened, and an awkward expression appeared on her face.

"Um, can I pay next time? I... I think I forgot to bring money." Scarlet said a bit embarrassedly.

"That won't do." Aiden shook his head. "Money in one hand, goods in the other."

"But…" Scarlet wanted to say something else, but just then dense footsteps came from outside the station. She turned to look, it was a large group of Shinra soldiers.

"You all wait outside." Scarlet gestured to stop them, then turned back to continue talking to Aiden, only to find that he had suddenly disappeared.

"Damn it… Where did you go?" Scarlet cursed, quickly rushed out of the station to look for him.

But because of the commotion here, the nearby area was full of onlookers. Scarlet looked around but didn't see any sign of Aiden.

"I still don't even know your name!" Scarlet hugged the flower basket and said somewhat disappointedly.

———

"What a total loss!" On another street, Aiden looked back in the direction of the station, a trace of helplessness flashing in his heart.

Not only did the business fail, but he also lost a basket of flowers, and he might have even drawn the attention of the Shinra Company.

"If I'd known it was Scarlet, I wouldn't have saved her. After all, she's a villain, if she died, she died." Aiden muttered to himself while spreading out his palm. In his hand, there was still a small flower, it was one he picked up from the ground before leaving.

'But why did Scarlet appear here?' Aiden thought while pinching the flower.

Just then, someone suddenly patted his shoulder from behind. Aiden was startled and quickly turned around while taking a combat stance.

But when he saw who it was, Aiden froze in place.

"Miss Tifa, why are you here?" Aiden withdrew his stance and asked.

The person was one of the female leads he had met during the day, Tifa.

"Of course I came to do some shopping." Tifa wore a gentle smile, her eyes like water, hands behind her back.

However, as she spoke, Tifa slightly tilted her head and glanced at the distant, giant Mako Reactor.

This small action caught Aiden's attention. He suddenly understood, seems she came here to scout for blowing up the reactor.

"And you?" Tifa looked at Aiden, and especially upon seeing the flower in his hand, asked, "Were you shopping too?"

"Uh… not exactly." Aiden raised the flower in his hand. "I came with a friend to sell flowers."

"Sell flowers?" Tifa's eyes widened. She found it hard to believe a man would choose this line of work, and then looked at Aiden with a strange expression.

"It's strange, right? But there's no helping it, I have to make a living too." Aiden felt a little uneasy under her gaze and quickly explained.

"I can understand it, but still hard to accept, because Marlene said you're pretty skilled at fighting." Tifa nodded, then said, "Seems business is good, only one flower left."

"It's okay, hahaha." Aiden laughed awkwardly.

"Since you sell flowers, then… I'll support your business too. That flower in your hand, I'll buy it." Tifa looked at the flower and said while pulling money from her pocket.

"If you want it, just take it, no need to pay." Aiden shook his head at the money, then handed the flower to her.

"Consider it paying back for the drinks earlier today," Aiden added.

"Then thank you!" Tifa wasn't the kind to be pretentious. She naturally accepted the flower and gently sniffed it.

"So fragrant." Tifa looked delighted. "It's been a long time since I smelled the scent of flowers."

Then she asked Aiden again, "Where did you get your flowers from?"

"Aerith grew them," Aiden replied.

"She's amazing," Tifa sincerely praised.

That wasn't an exaggeration, because Midgar was no longer suitable for plant growth, being able to grow flowers wasn't just impressive, it was extraordinary.

"Of course," Aiden nodded.

"Right, Aiden, want to go for a walk together?" Tifa asked, twirling the flower.

"Hmm..." Aiden didn't answer immediately. He glanced at the clock hanging in a shop by the road, already past nine, so he shook his head.

"Sorry, Tifa. It's already past nine. I agreed to meet up with Aerith at ten to go home together."

Tifa looked a little disappointed but still nodded. "In that case, let's part here."

Then she perked up and waved to Aiden. "Come by Seventh Heaven when you have time."

"Mm. Don't worry, I'll go when I can." Aiden nodded and waved back.

After watching Tifa leave, Aiden turned to head toward the meeting spot with Aerith.

But as soon as he turned around, he saw Aerith on the other side of the street, holding the flower basket and looking at him.

———

"Can I say… meeting Tifa was just a coincidence?"

On the way home, Aiden said to Aerith.

"Sure, life is always full of surprises. I can understand that." Aerith glanced at him. "But giving her a flower, was that a coincidence too?"

"Uh… not really, just paying back for the drinks," Aiden thought and said.

"I didn't know my flowers were worth so much," Aerith said in mock surprise, even making a dramatic expression.

"Because they were grown with your care, of course they're valuable," Aiden quickly replied.

Hearing that, Aerith paused, then snorted lightly. "Of course they are."

"But, you only gave Tifa one flower, were the rest all sold?" Aerith asked again.

"Yeah, all sold." Seeing her bring it up, Aiden immediately pulled out a thick wad of cash from his system space and waved it in front of Aerith.

"So much?" Looking at the thick stack of money, Aerith narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Aiden.
