The guards were sweating.
Not from heat. Not from duty.
From the beastkin rage hurricane howling inside.
"LET! ME! OUT!" Fina was kicking the door hard enough to rattle the hinges, her claws scraping divots into the frame. "I WILL BURN THIS VILLAGE TO THE GROUND IF HE'S HURT!"
Rinni was curled in the corner, gripping a rolled-up blanket like it owed her money. "Allen wouldn't leave without saying goodbye! Or without a goodbye dick! This is a crime! A SEX CRIME!"
The older guard swallowed nervously. "Maybe we should… tell someone."
The younger one was already backing away. "I—I didn't sign up for this."
Inside the hut, Fina let out a primal growl. "When I get out of here, I'm using my claws as stirrups and hunting down every smug fox bastard in this godsdamn camp—starting with whoever took my man."
