Memorize - Episode 47

047 Dungeon Of Alchemist

To conclude, the kids couldn't master sensing in just one day. Forget the one hour I demanded, Yoo-jung collapsed after reaching the longest time of 28 minutes. Honestly, it could be considered praiseworthy for their first attempt, but I deliberately refrained from saying anything.

As a pioneering city, the small city of Mule only had buildings from when it was first discovered. Even newly constructed buildings were limited to only the most essential ones. Unlike major cities, there was no specialized place for training. So for the time being, I planned to have them focus solely on sensing training.

While the kids were training, I left the inn under the pretext of gathering information. No matter how much I remembered from the past, there was no guarantee that the information I had was certain. Moreover, for minor details rather than major events, it was correct to verify things before taking action. However, there was one matter I needed to settle first.

Before moving, I first headed to the warehouse used by users. The user-exclusive warehouse can be thought of as an inventory that can't be carried around. Classified as a of the Hollow Plane, it's a personal space that others can't touch, but with the limitation that only items purchased with GP can be stored.

Tracing my memories, I found the user-exclusive warehouse and slowly examined the items inside. Thinking it's better to use what can be used now rather than regretting later, I took out all the available elixirs (potions) and without further ado, poured them all into my mouth.

『You use Angel's Tears. 6 ability points have been additionally generated.』

『You use the Elixir of Vitality Increase. Vitality points increase by 2.』

『You use the Elixir of Vision. 1 ability point has been additionally generated.』

Seeing the messages appear in order, I smiled with satisfaction. Eager to check the information, I immediately loaded the user information window.

Looking at my current ability scores, abilities, and remaining points, I felt both proud and unfamiliar at the same time. A strange sense of pleasure that I couldn't feel in my first run seemed to grip my body.

Boss monster 2 points. Angel's Tears 6 points. Vitality elixir 2 points. User mission reward 4 points. Excluding the 2 points from the vitality elixir, I had a total of 12 points left. Besides that, I also had one point left to raise the rank of a potential ability.

I still couldn't decide where to invest the ability score points. Rationally speaking, investing in vitality would be correct. But emotionally, I couldn't help but keep looking at strength, mana, and agility. I didn't intend to stop myself in the first place. This dilemma was similar when looking at the ability points. It was so regrettable that I couldn't invest in the unique ability.

Ability scores: Strength. Endurance. Agility. Vitality. Mana.

Potential abilities: Close Combat. Unbreakable. Clairvoyance (Zen).

Others, no, other users would throw stones at me, calling this a happy dilemma.

In the end, unable to make a decision, I postponed it again this time. Since I had absorbed everything into my body, I could raise them anytime when needed. I wanted to think about it more, and I also wanted to be prepared for situations I might not be able to handle in the future.

After some deliberation, I decided to keep the Nameless Sword and Elixir in the user warehouse for now. As both are late-game equipment, there was no need to take them out or use them in the early stages. Moreover, even though the Nameless Sword looked plain on the outside, if a user with a good eye for exploration-related jobs saw it, it could cause troublesome situations. Later, when I obtain a high-level user's mark of subspace, I can take them out then. I finished my business at the warehouse by taking out 300 gold coins, which was 30% of my held gold.

Turning my head, I could see the leisurely main street of the city. The information I wanted was not about the current political situation of the Northern Continent, but information for the goals we would achieve. Honestly, if given enough time, I wanted to grow steadily by clearing monsters in areas that weren't yet stabilized.

However, the time left for us was too short. I wanted to at least have an official clan name before the First Allied War broke out and the clans rose up. Excluding cases where large clans create branches, establishing an official clan in just three months is considered a very difficult task.

In the end, the only method left was to quickly accumulate achievements by cherry-picking the best opportunities in Mule.

I could select a total of 3 essential places to conquer in Mule.

The Ruins of the Laboratory. The Dungeon of Vivian, the Ancient Alchemist. The Cave of Screams.

The Cave of Screams was a cave that the caravan I belonged to accidentally discovered when I was in my second year. However, I had only heard rumors about the laboratory and the alchemist's dungeon, so some preparation was needed.

Most novice users mistakenly think that discovering caves or dungeons is not difficult. However, such places never pop up easily. Sometimes they're hidden within barriers or require specific items to enter.

Of course, the Third Eye I currently possess might be able to solve a considerable part of the problem, but there were too many uncertain factors to be optimistic.

I decided to go to the library first. In the Hollow Plane, a library can be defined as a facility that collects all kinds of documents and records and opens them for users to access.

Given the unsettled surrounding situation and the fact that it was a newly launched pioneering city, even the representative clan was prioritizing the stabilization of the city. In this situation, openly setting out to explore caves or dungeons would be foolish. I knew going to the library was foolish, but I had no choice.

If it really didn't work out, there was also the option of going to the Cave of Screams first. But I wanted to leave that cave for last if possible.

Four days passed. During that time, the kids were clearly showing their growth. Among them, Sol showed particularly remarkable progress. It seems she struggled to control her mana at first because she had too much of it from the beginning. But after I taught her my efficient mana operation know-how and guided her mana a few times, her skills were improving noticeably day by day.

As time passed, I demanded additional things from the kids. I asked them to maintain mana sensing while moving around, not just in a stationary state. The kids who had barely achieved maintaining sensing for 40 minutes reverted back to square one the moment movement was added.

Ahn Hyun and Yoo-jung complained, but I could silence them with one sentence: "Then do you want to fight standing still in one place during battle?"

I added one more requirement for Sol. There's a holy spell called Shackles that priests learn as a basic spell. Along with Cure, it was one of the most useful holy spells in the early stages.

Ting!

I took out a silver coin and flicked it high into the air. The coin spun through the air and then fell back into my hand. Looking at Sol, who was watching with a serious face, I calmly explained the training method.

"Remember well the part where I caught the silver coin. For mages and priests, casting speed is the most important thing after mana ability score. How fast and how quickly you can cast the magic you intend. That's the key. Try to catch it with Shackles in mid-air before the silver coin completely falls to the ground."

"Yes!"

Seeing Sol answer energetically with a bright smile, I smiled gently. Suddenly, Sol thrust her head forward in front of me, startling me. But soon understanding her intention, I reached out my hand and patted her head.

After sending off the grinning Sol, just as I was about to focus again on the documents I had brought from the library, I heard the sound of the next room's door opening abruptly outside. And not long after, the door to my room opened wide with a rough sound. Wondering who it could be, I raised my head to see Yoo-jung's face peeking in through the door.
