Chapter 136 - 152 Jenny × Contract × Conjuration

After leaving Hisoka, Joey returned straight to Heaven's Arena.

There were still over two months left before the next Hunter Exam, and he had already registered. Until then, he planned to polish himself through actual combat—and Heaven's Arena was the perfect place for it.

He also needed time to process everything he'd gained from his recent battles.

At the registration desk, he signed in under his real name: Joey Joestar.

Then he waited in the lobby for his placement test.

For now, Joey had no intention of using Killer Queen or Golden Experience. Even though he'd destroyed the footage from his battles, the explosive power of Killer Queen and the synergy with Golden Experience had already been noted by commentators during the fight.

More importantly, he didn't want to expose them.

His true focus was on refining his use of Weather Report.

There was still so much to explore within that ability. His grasp of Nen fundamentals also had plenty of room for improvement.

And Heaven's Arena was the ideal hunting ground.

Out in the world, it was rare to meet opposing Nen users. Despite a global population in the billions, the total number of Nen users probably didn't even exceed 10,000.

The Hunter Association itself only registered a few hundred professional Hunters.

But Joey knew—criminal groups, underground syndicates, secret societies—many of them had Nen users.

Untrained maybe, but each with strange, unpredictable powers that could be deadly if underestimated.

Joey's first match?

Laughable.

He stepped into the ring and with a single, casual shove, sent his opponent—who looked more like a bodybuilder than a fighter—flying clean off the platform.

Flawless.

The stadium speakers blared the announcement:

"Ladies and gentlemen! 15-year-old Joey Joestar just debuted with overwhelming force!

A single push! His opponent went airborne!

Could we be witnessing the rise of Heaven's Arena's newest prodigy?

Let's see how far he can climb—will he reach the 200th floor in record time? Or fall just before it? Let's find out on Floor 50!"

The crowd erupted in cheers.

Many fans started tailing him—eager to witness his next match.

Joey left the stage and headed to the private elevator for fighters.

A staff attendant stood waiting to guide him, ready to give him a full rundown of the arena he'd already been living in for nearly a month.

By Joey's estimate, he only needed four matches to reach the 200th floor.

Floor 50

Floor 100

Floor 150

Floor 200

The prize money was no joke either.

While the reward for Floor 1 matches was a mere 152 Jenny, reaching Floor 50 came with a payout of 50,000. Floor 100 offered a private room and a million Jenny prize.

Floor 150 gave 10 million.

Floor 200? A staggering 200 million Jenny.

There was no way he was passing up that kind of quick cash.

But when the elevator reached Floor 30, he ran into a familiar face.

"Joey?"

A man with glasses and a neatly buttoned white shirt—well, mostly buttoned—stepped in, accompanied by a younger boy.

Wing.

Joey recognized him instantly from their time at Hunter Association HQ.

The boy, on the other hand…

Zushi, Joey remembered. Young, kind-hearted, and promising.

"You're here too?" Joey asked.

"I heard from Gon and Killua that this place was perfect for training—and earning money—so I figured I'd give it a shot."

"Heaven's Arena is a great place for sharpening your skills once you've awakened Nen," Wing nodded.

"But be careful choosing opponents. Some are pure martial artists—but others have… darker intentions."

He spoke with the calm tone of a teacher, but there was a weight behind his words.

Joey respected him.

After all, Wing had trained both Gon and Killua—and his teacher was Biscuit herself.

"So… you a floor master?" Joey asked, curious.

"No," Wing smiled faintly.

"Just a challenger. My record's 7 wins and 1 loss."

"Great! Once I hit 200, can I challenge you?"

Wing's smile deepened.

"Of course. Just go easy on me—Biscuit told me your abilities are more… lethal than most."

Joey laughed.

"She's just messing with you! I'm a pacifist, I swear!"

Wing didn't say anything, but the gleam in his eyes said he wasn't buying it.

"Sir, we've arrived," the attendant interrupted.

"I'm in Room 2007," Wing added as Joey stepped off the elevator.

"Come by anytime."

"Got it!"

As the elevator doors closed, Zushi turned to his mentor.

"Sensei, is he really that strong?"

Wing adjusted his glasses and nodded.

"His fundamentals are still rough, but his combat instinct and ability usage are extraordinary.

I've seen him in action."

Meanwhile, Joey made his way to the prize counter and collected his first reward: 152 Jenny.

Naturally, he did what every isekai protagonist would.

Bought juice.

His match on the 50th floor was no different. Another one-push victory.

This time, the opponent landed in the crowd.

Watching the scene unfold, Joey couldn't help but recall Goku from Dragon Ball tossing opponents off the stage during the World Martial Arts Tournament.

I remember wanting to make my own Kamehameha or Destructo Disk when I first realized I was an Emitter…

But due to the nature of En, he'd learned quickly:

Nen released beyond the range of his En simply vanishes.

Without Golden Experience, he probably wouldn't have any long-range attacks.

Well… Heart Attack was still useful.

Speaking of that…

Joey's hand slipped into his inner pocket and touched the handkerchief—the one he took from Geralt, made from the same Ming hide as his wallet.

He could feel Nen from it—but no matter how close he held it, he couldn't absorb any of it.

He'd hoped having the handkerchief would give him access to a Conjuration-type ability like Geralt's.

But so far?

Nothing.

Joey wasn't disappointed, though. He already had enough abilities to manage.

Even if he did unlock a Conjuration skill, he probably wouldn't have time to develop it.

He'd once planned to make a Golden Experience Stand replica.

Still hadn't gotten around to it.

Too many tasks. Too little time.

But now, with a little breathing room, he could start managing his priorities.

He'd still study the handkerchief—if it really could unlock a new ability, then why not?

A conjured clone like Geralt's would be a serious boost.

But he knew what mattered most:

Killer Queen and Weather Report were his core.

Those were the abilities that needed his focus.

Everything else—wallets, handkerchiefs—were just external tools.

Still, even a warrior needed a hobby.

And if, say, he started conjuring anime figurines for fun, that'd be pretty cool too.

Joey wasn't a hardcore collector…

But hey, what anime fan didn't have a few 2D waifus?
