Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 We Are Just Dispensable Handymen!

Ten pirates walked through the streets, where people were coming and going.

Some were thinking about the supplies to be purchased this time.

Others were lost in their own thoughts.

At this moment, the man walking at the front of the line suddenly stopped.

The others behind him also stopped when he did.

Soon, someone asked in confusion, "Why did you stop?"

"We have a lot to buy this time, and we need to set sail in the evening."

"There's not much time left for us."

With these words spoken, the man who had stopped at the front of the group turned around with a cold expression.

"Are you all idiots?"

"You don't want to leave, do you?!"

Hearing these sudden words, the pirate who had spoken was stunned.

At that moment, he realized something was wrong.

The man at the front spoke again.

"Don't be stupid, let's face the reality!"

"Look at our current situation!"

"To be honest, when I found the island, I spoke with Harry and Lunt!"

"We have to use this opportunity to leave the island and escape their control!"

As soon as this was said, those who hadn't known about it had their faces change immediately.

One pirate stepped forward and shouted in a low voice.

"Flynn!! Are you crazy?!"

"Do you even know what you're saying?!"

Flynn's expression remained unchanged as he calmly looked at the pirate who had spoken.

"I know exactly what I'm talking about."

"It's you, Asaq, and you!"

"Are you even aware of the situation we're in?"

"Do you really think that if we just follow them and obey their orders, we'll be fine?"

"What we're doing now is nothing but menial labor!"

"We're not their companions, just a bunch of handymen!"

"A bunch of worthless, expendable handymen!"

"A group of worthless people—do you really think we can find a solid footing among these monsters?"

"Have you forgotten how that strange bird looked at us that day?"

"It wants to eat us!"

"It won't be long before we end up as the belly of that strange bird!"

Flynn spoke passionately about the precarious situation they were in.

His speech effectively silenced everyone and made them reflect.

As they thought about their situation carefully, considering Flynn's words, some were moved.

But they remained rational and didn't express superficial emotion.

One pirate finally asked, "Their strength is so overwhelming. Do you think we can really escape?"

Hearing the question, Flynn replied solemnly and affirmatively.

"Yes!"

"As I said, we're just a bunch of handymen!"

"They don't care about our lives at all!"

"Even if we escape, they won't bother to chase us down!"

"Anyone can do something like being a handyman!"

With Flynn's confirmation, someone from the group, clearly feeling relieved, stood up and said.

"Let's go then, I'll go with you!"

That was all it took, and immediately two more people joined in.

"Flynn! I'll go with you too!"

"Me too!"

By now, six of the ten pirates, including Flynn, had clearly expressed their intention to leave.

"Alright! Let's leave together then!" Flynn replied to the three who had joined him.

He then turned his attention to Asaq and the other three who hadn't said anything.

"And Asaq, what about you? Are you coming with us?"

Hearing Flynn's words, Asaq gritted his teeth.

After a long pause, he spoke in a deep voice.

"If you want to leave, then go."

"I'll stay!"

"As a former companion, I'll pretend I don't know you!"

With that, Asaq turned and walked past Flynn, striding away.

Seeing Asaq leave, Flynn didn't stop him.

Instead, he looked at the last three who hadn't made a decision.

"What about you?"

After a brief hesitation, the three of them finally gritted their teeth and said.

"I'm with Asaq, I'm staying."

"I'm not going."

"I'm not leaving either!"

Having expressed their stance, the three of them walked past Flynn to join Asaq.

Looking at the backs of the four leaving, Flynn called out one last time.

"Suit yourselves!"

"Escape before evening, it's not too late!"

However, the four, Asaq included, did not respond to Flynn's words.

Flynn didn't care, turning around to leave with the others.

What they didn't know was that not far from the street,

Beast Path Payne, wearing a long black windbreaker with a red cloud pattern embroidered on it, was standing on the roof, coldly watching their actions.

Looking at the six who chose to leave, Beast Path Payne's eyes slightly lowered, and he murmured indifferently and calmly.

"Six people? That's quite a lot."

As the voice fell, Beast Path Payne's figure disappeared from the roof in an instant.
