Giancarlo scoffed out a laugh. He took a deep breath, starting, "What I'm about to say is not going to me making excuses for everything that I've done and everything that has happened."
Diana didn't look at him.
"I didn't always used to be this way. I was a good father…you know. I love and care for you and that's not a lie. The only difference was…I didn't show it enough." He squeezed it enough. "When your mother and I got married, you were everything we'd always wanted, and when you came, believe it or not, it was the happiest day of my life. To me, I already had everything I could ever desire. A wife that I love, and a beautiful little daughter. You were adorable, running around the house, being a litrle mischief. The sound of you calling for me was always the cutest thing, you know. But…"
