Kelsey's POV
{Kelsey's Residence– 7:12 A.M}
I tried. I really tried. Even after I bathed, brushed, dressed, cooked breakfast... did all the normal things a mother should do on a regular day.
But I couldn't stop seeing it.
His body. His everything. That morning encounter with him in the bathroom played in my head like a damn movie on a loop. And the worst part was that my brain wasn't even trying to forget.
No.
It was replaying it in high definition. Over and over again.
I flipped the pancake with more force than needed. It landed perfectly, but I didn't feel proud.
Landon walked into the kitchen, quiet as always, dressed now in a plain grey shirt and jeans. His hair was still slightly damp.
I didn't look at him. Well, not directly.
I felt him move behind me, maybe trying to help, maybe just getting coffee. I didn't care.
"Lila," I called out, "Come eat, baby."
Lila ran in, beaming in her tiny uniform.
"Yay! Pancakes!"
I smiled, only for her.
