I shoved him off me, cheeks practically on fire. "This is all your fault—I'm humiliated!"
Danny didn't even blink. He just threw his head back and mimicked in a high-pitched voice, "I'm humiliated!"
I glared, smacking his arm. "Go now! She saw us, idiot!"
He only chuckled, completely unbothered, and leaned in again. He kissed both my cheeks—soft and deliberate—then stole a kiss on my lips before I could pull away.
"Goodnight, darling," he whispered with a wink. "I'll make sure to be present next night too."
My face turned redder than a tomato as he waltzed out, smug as ever, shutting the door behind him like nothing had happened.

The next morning, I tried my best to act normal.
We sat at the breakfast table, quiet but far too aware of the glances shooting across the plates. Mrs. Fraser served us eggs and toast with her usual grace… and then, with the most innocent tone ever, she looked directly at me.
"Sweetheart, you're barely eating," she said sweetly. "Was it the lightning that kept you up? Or was it the thunder... inside the room?"
I choked on my toast.
Danny grinned, biting into his food with absolutely no shame.
Mrs. Fraser raised an eyebrow with a teasing smile, pretending to be lost in thought. "Or maybe the bed was just too... crowded for comfort?"
I coughed harder, reaching for my glass of water as Danny leaned over and whispered in my ear, "Told you I'd be present."
"You're evil," I muttered through gritted teeth.
He just winked. "And you love it."
