Reina Congratulated us on the victory and we had high-fives.
"That wasn't too bad, I want to battle on the next okay?"
Roté replied with a smirk, he was clearly impressed and now wanted to show-off himself.
"Oh! and me too! I wanna battle next!"
Reina followed up and I decided to approve of it.
We were the first to finish, and Raiya greeted us..
"Congrats on finishing first Group 1. Lets just wait for your opponent, be it Group 3 or 4."
We wait for around 10 minutes before the next group finished..... Which was Group 8...
Another 10 minutes pass, now it was Group 6...
Something was definitely off... why was the battle between Group 3 and 4 taking so long?
The battle finally ended with Group 4 being the winner... and the leader....
It was concerning...
"Shoto Chevalier... we meet again."
The Black haired and skinned boy greeted me and extended a hand..
I accept the hand and nod
"Lukas Gott... pleasure seeing you again."
Lukas was the student just behind me... the 2nd place student.
He's an incredible trainer of high caliber.... and his family has Gengar as their legacy...
Definitely the hardest foe, we might even lose.
"I won't be fighting in this test. I decided to go into full strategy rather than battling this time around... I know our last battle taught me many things about how important it is to strategize..... and I'm truly grateful for the lesson."
Lukas bowed his head to me for a moment, and then he looked at me seriously...
He was talking about battle simulations from before becoming official trainers... and I beat him after he challenged me...
I want to see his improvement first hand...
"I promised my teamates to let them battle this next one, so I won't be participating in our battle.."
Lukas smiled, atleast he knew now that he did not miss an opportunity to battle Shoto again.
Inside the Arena
Roté and Reina face off their opponents..
The referee announces the battle terms.(skipping it this time)
All four of them send out their Pokémon.
Roté and Reina each send out their legacies right off the bat.
Darmanitan and Umbreon.
Meanwhile, The opposition sent out a Trapinch and a Torracat...
Trapinch's Arena Trap and Torracat's Intimidate activate.
Preventing Switching for Roté and Reina, then Torracat's Intimidate lowered thier attacks by a stage.
Roté, thinking that the Trapinch's Arena Trap was dangerous. Focused first on it..
The turn starts..
"Darmanitan, Use Icicle Crash on Trapinch!"
The Darmanitan with its Choice Scarf moved at a quick speed and Charged at the Trapinch....
"Trapinch use Protect!"
The Trapinch made a barrier of white and blocked Darmanitan's attack.
Now its locked onto Icicle Crash because of Gorilla Tactics(and ig the choice scarf too)
"Umbreon use Substitute"
Umbreon sacrificed its hp for a Substitute... focusing on a defensive play.
"Torracat use parting shot on Darmanitan."
The Torracat hits the Darmanitan with another Attack drop and swapped out...
And it got replaced by a Jigglypuff...
The next turn starts.
Before the turn started...
Trapinch was returned to its Pokéball, and its trainer's Dynamax ring send energy to its Pokéball.
"Time to grow big Trapinch!"
The trainer threw the giant Pokéball behind him, and Trapinch emerged Gigantamax..
"Darmanitan, Use Icicle Crash on Trapinch once again!"
"Umbreon, Help out Darmanitan with Helping Hand!"
Umbreon Prepared to help Darmanitan and afterwards... Darmanitan Hit the Trapinch with the Super- Effective hit...
The Trapinch was visibly hurt... but.
"It survived!???"
Roté exclaimed.... but at this point it was likely...
Darmanitan has its Attack dropped by 2 stages do to Torracat...
Jigglypuff was offering its Friend Guard ability for damage mitigation
And not only that, Its likely the Trapinch is holding an Eviolite, making it even more tanky...
Lastly, the dynamax hp boost...
The effects were not in Darmanitan's Favor
"did something hit me?"
The Trapinch mocked Darmanitan...
"dar- dar!"
And Darmanitan Fell for it...
"Trapinch, use Max Rockfall!"
The Trapinch summoned a giant rock from the ground, and used it to smash Umbreon... Breaking its Substitute. And Setting up the Sandstorm.
Then.... it was Jigglypuff's turn.
"Jigglypuff, Use Perish Song!"
Roté and Reina's eyes widen..
Perish Song!
A move usually treated as a useless move... now in this case. with Trapinch being here to trap their Pokémon they couldn't do a thing unless they knock out Trapinch...
So they only had one Choice.
Another attack, boosted by Helping Hand is enough to Knock out the giant Trapinch...
Reina and Roté repeat their move.... but.
"Trapinch use Max Guard!"
The Trapinch summoned another white barrier once more... but this time gigantic.
It blocked Darmanitan's Icicle Crash once more and now Darmanitan was extremely furious....
while Roté was trying to calm it down, Jigglypuff made its next move.
"Jigglypuff, use Heal Pulse on Trapinch!"
The Trapinch then gets healed back to full by said Heal Pulse....
The turn ended with all but Trapinch being buffeted by the sandstorm.. though that didn't matter much in this particular battle. As the Perish Song counts down to 3

Both Roté and Reina are so done with this...
But the battle still continued.
Darmanitan and Umbreon once again do the same move. Failing to Knock out the Trapinch, and Trapinch used Max Rockfall once more.
And once again Jigglypuff uses an Infruiating move.
"Jigglypuff, use Skill Swap!"
While Trapinch's hp is nearing depletion.... now Jigglypuff is the target due to it now possessing Arena Trap, the bad news is... Jigglypuff is still at full HP!
The turn ends on Trapinch losing its Dynamax, the Perish Song counting down to 2 turns. And the Sandstorm buffeting all but Trapinch...
This was extremely bad... Now Darmanitan has to Change Targets.
"Trapinch return!"
The Trapinch's trainer swaps it out... and out comes..
Another... Torracat.... so these two trainer both each have a Torracat huh.
Its Intimidate Ability A\activates, Lowering Darmanitan's and Umbreon's Attack once more.
And both Pokémon once again used the same move combo, but this time on Jigglypuff.
Now though...
Jigglypuff's Trainer prepared a Terra orb, and threw it at Jigglypuff to Terrastalize it into the Steel type..
So once again Darmanitan did not do any damage...
"Jigglypuff, use Skill Swap once more onto Torracat this time!"
The Arena Trap was once again moved to a different Pokémon.
The Perish Song counted down to 1 turn... the next turn. Darmanitan, Umbreon, and Jigglypuff will faint.. but Jigglypuff can swap.
The next turn...
The Icicle Crash and Helping hand combo hit Jigglypuff once more for miniscule damage..
Then Torracat used Knockoff onto Darmanitan, removing its Choice Scarf.
And finallyJigglypuff swaps out to the other Torracat.
With the two cats now facing them....
The Perish Song Counter turns to 0.
