The storm raged on, the rain pounding relentlessly against the earth. The night was as dark as ink, save for the faint glow of firelight emanating from the enemy encampment. Obito stood in the shadows, his crimson Sharingan eyes gleaming with an eerie intensity. His hands moved swiftly through hand seals, and within moments, a massive vortex of wind began to form.
Like many Uchiha, Obito's primary chakra nature was Fire, but his secondary affinity was Wind. Despite this, his mastery of Wind Release rivaled that of his Fire techniques. As he focused his chakra, a powerful whirlwind surged forth, rapidly expanding into a colossal tornado that engulfed several tents in its path.
"Who's there?!"
Even in their drunken stupor, the rogue shinobi couldn't ignore the commotion. A loud shout erupted from the chaos as figures scrambled out of the tents. Unfortunately for them, most of their comrades were already caught in the swirling maelstrom. Within moments, the camp descended into pandemonium. Many of the rogue shinobi were still asleep when the attack struck, leaving them utterly defenseless.
Though this jutsu wasn't the most devastating in terms of raw power, its strength lay in its wide area of effect and sustained damage. Unlike Lightning or Fire Release, which relied on instantaneous bursts, this technique thrived on prolonged destruction—and that made it all the more terrifying.
In the pitch-black night, these rogue shinobi—normally untouchable along the borderlands—couldn't believe someone had dared to provoke them like this. In the past, anyone foolish enough to oppose them had met a grim fate. This arrogance had lulled them into complacency, giving Obito the perfect opportunity to strike.
In such a dark, rain-soaked environment, Fire Release would have been severely dampened. However, Wind Release not only remained unaffected but grew stronger due to the torrential rain feeding into the jutsu, amplifying its destructive force.
"Such incredible power!"
From their hiding spot, Chunyu Xi and Shizuku stared in disbelief. They couldn't fathom how a mere Genin like Obito could wield such a fearsome technique. To them, it felt like witnessing a dream—or perhaps a nightmare.
"Ahh!!"
Screams echoed through the night, transforming the area into a blood-soaked battlefield. The tornado sucked in vast amounts of water and debris, creating even greater devastation. Those caught within its grasp suffered severe injuries as the relentless winds battered them mercilessly.
"Boy, who are you?! How dare you attack our camp?!"
The leader of the rogue shinobi emerged alongside a few Special Jōnin, narrowly escaping the tornado's wrath. Others weren't so fortunate. Their lack of skill left them trapped within the jutsu's reach, unable to escape its deadly embrace.
"The one who will take your life."
Amidst the darkness, Obito's Sharingan eyes glowed ominously, drawing both fear and rage from the rogue leader. He seethed at the sight of his subordinates being decimated by the attack, knowing the casualties would be catastrophic. It was inconceivable that a child no older than seven or eight could unleash such a large-scale A-rank jutsu.
What infuriated him more was the apparent lack of provocation. He hadn't wronged the Uchiha clan in any way—so why were they targeting him?
Though notorious along the borders, the rogue leader was far from reckless. He knew better than to meddle with caravans escorted by shinobi from the Five Great Nations unless absolutely necessary. News of such acts spread quickly, inviting trouble he preferred to avoid. As long as he didn't provoke powerful enemies, he could live comfortably.
In the Land of Rain, Sanzō Hanzō—the leader of Amegakure and its strongest warrior—was too preoccupied with the Akatsuki to care about groups like theirs. These rogue shinobi operated under the radar, exploiting the chaos caused by the organization's presence.
But now, an Uchiha had appeared.
The rogue leader glossed over questions about Obito's ability to use such a potent jutsu or how he awakened the Sharingan at such a young age. What mattered to him was why the Uchiha were targeting him—he had no quarrel with their clan.
"Hmph… Big talk for a brat."
Despite Obito's Sharingan betraying hints of his prowess, the rogue leader refused to bow to a mere child. While the Uchiha were formidable, even cornered rabbits fought back fiercely—and this was no ordinary rabbit. This was a seasoned Jōnin.
"You killed Papa!!"
One of the Special Jōnin roared furiously, charging toward Obito. The leader barked a warning: "Be careful, you fool!"
Obito's display of a large-scale jutsu, combined with his Sharingan, clearly marked him as a formidable opponent. Underestimating him based on his age would be a fatal mistake.
This guy's got issues, Obito thought as he watched the enraged Special Jōnin rush at him.
"Dakuri, get back here!!"
The leader shouted after him, but halfway through his charge, Dakuri suddenly slowed down. His movements became sluggish, and he froze in place, staring blankly ahead. The leader cursed inwardly. Did this idiot really think charging blindly at an Uchiha with activated Sharingan was a good idea? Staring directly into those eyes practically begged for genjutsu.
Unfortunately for Dakuri, he was a simple-minded man consumed by grief and anger over his brother's death. This emotional turmoil made him an easy target for Obito's illusions.
What a moron!
With ease, Obito ensnared Dakuri in his genjutsu and closed the distance between them.
"Boom!!"
A deafening sound echoed as Dakuri's hulking frame was sent flying backward. The sheer force of the impact shattered bones, eliciting a sharp gasp from the rogue leader, who halted mid-charge. Just how strong was this kid?
"What connection do you have with Tsunade?!"
Fear flickered in the leader's eyes. While he held respect for the Uchiha, Tsunade inspired pure terror. He could never forget her ferocity from years ago.
Some people were born with monstrous strength—but did Obito look like one of them? The leader immediately deduced that Obito had inherited Tsunade's legendary superhuman strength.
"Damn… So strong!"
Hidden in the shadows, Shizuku and Chunyu Xi watched in awe as Obito delivered a single punch that sent a Special Jōnin flying.
