Chapter 11 - Ch 11 - Laziness

The soft glow of light slowly dissipated from Kai's body as he felt his vision returning to him.

He rapidly blinked a few times by himself because he thought that'd help him gain his vision quicker.

"Wait, why's it still dark?" He muttered under his breath.

His vision had, no doubt, recovered. Yet, for some reason, he couldn't see anything.

He lowered his head and looked at his body as he suspected something had happened to his eyes. Although, to his surprise, he could see his own self crystal clear.

"Wait..." He ran his gaze through the surroundings as he noticed some familiarity with this place.

'And... Here we are again...'

He let out a deep sigh as his body seemed to have relaxed on its own. He recognized this place very well.

A black realm where—for as far as the eye could see—only darkness resided, yet one could see themselves as clearly as they would in broad daylight.

'To be honest... It shouldn't have been too much of a shock to me since I spent quite a few hours here not too long ago...' he thought as closed his eyes and sat down leisurely.

'But oh well, I guess the fights were a serious load of work for my brain.'

He slowly tilted backward, letting gravity do the rest of the work, and lay on his back with his arms and legs stretched outwards.

For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, his mind has had the chance to finally relax. Even though his body had been relieved of all the stress by the System, there was no doubt that he had become mentally exhausted.

Several minutes passed away in an instant.

'"This realm, for sure, is ruthless. Even the most intellectual beings might become mentally unstable in such darkness and silence." He mumbled softly as his eyelids slightly parted apart.

His words were indeed true. The silence of such a realm was nothing but a slow poison to average humans.

However, to Kai, it was nothing more than a great napping spot. Because for most of his life, he had spent his years staying alone in a room shut off from the rest of the world.

To him, such silence was just another one of his childhood friends that made him feel the most comfortable.

Relying on the help of his friend, his consciousness began to sway toward the state of drowsiness.

Although, it seemed like even the System couldn't withstand such a leisurely thing to happen in between the life-and-death game of its unknown trial.

Just as he was about to enter his sleep, a sharp notification alert rang in his head—forcing him to completely open his eyes.

At the front, another System window appeared.

Kai didn't let out a single word but continued to glare at the screen with a blank face as though he wanted to tear the screen apart.

He then rolled his eyes and let out a short breath, almost like a sigh.

"Tsk.. I'm awake anyways... System, show me the status." He commanded the system in a rather soft tone.

Almost instantly, a whole new panel stretched out of the screen and displayed all of his stats.

However despicable it may be, the system at least was sincere with its work. While Kai on the other hand, barely spared a glance at the Screen.

He closed his eyes and rolled his body to his left, "Aight, 24 hours it is then. I'll get a good sleep in that time."

And with that said, noises of loud snores began to reverberate in a place that was meant to torture humans.
