Countless races across the stars trembled, kneeling in reverence, chanting the sacred names of the Buddhas in unison.
There was no resisting it—the influence of the Buddhist path across the cosmos was unimaginably vast.
Especially now, when the universe was on the brink of ruin at the hands of these wild beasts, the chakra of the Buddhist path—being one of the five supreme attributes—became the last hope for survival.
So, all races joined forces, looking to the Buddhist sects for salvation.

Millions of years later, these remnants were discovered, leading to the formation of "dark matter." Future generations would come to call it the Dark Universe.
Some races even gave them a more ominous name—Black Holes—and this was their origin.
It was only now that Senju Yukika truly understood: the black holes scattered across the cosmos were created during that apocalyptic war.
The universe, formed by absolute forces and governed by mysterious laws, had become a fragmented and scarred battlefield.
Yet, to this day, no powerful expert from any race had ever fully explored the inside of a black hole.
What truly lies within? No one knew.
At that moment, Senju Yukika saw it clearly: after a brutal battle, the seven ancient Buddhas united their seven relics—the Saptaratna—and ultimately defeated the ancient demon ape at the peak of its power!
Wounded and on the verge of death, the demon ape abandoned its beast army and fled into the starry depths, eventually hiding on the ancestral planet of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
There, it lay low and healed, unseen and unheard…
But unexpectedly, the seven ancient Buddhas were able to sense its presence once again!
That led to the vision Yukika had just seen:
A massive, blood-colored beast devouring the energy of mountains, rivers, and all living things—leaving wastelands in its wake.
Then, seven towering Buddha statues appeared, calling upon the ancient demon ape to repent and return to the path of enlightenment.

But how could such a savage creature be tamed so easily?
If the ancient demon ape had been that simple to convert, it never would've slaughtered the former Beast King, nor led the beast horde to wipe out entire civilizations!

No race across the universe could tolerate its existence.
And the seven Buddhas—true leaders of the Buddhist path and strongest beings in the cosmos—had only managed to defeat it with the power of the combined relics.
