Led by the man in green, Bob and Kaido spent about an hour traversing the desolate outskirts of the island before arriving at the Flower Street. By then, it was already evening.
Standing at the most open vantage point, Bob was instantly captivated by the scene before him.
The entire street was ablaze with lights, bustling with activity. The air was filled with the clamor of voices, and the buildings on either side rose uniformly from the ground. Crowds of people waling along, and upon closer inspection, one could see taverns, shops, and workshops lining the street. At the far end was what Bob cared about most—a row of entertainment district! The sight before him felt like a return to his past life, a familiar city that never slept.
Kaido, standing beside Bob, wore a similar expression. At 19, it seemed like he was witnessing such a scene for the first time.
"Gentlemen, this is the Flower Street of our island. Now that you've arrived, I'll take my leave," the man in green said, having completed his task, and bid farewell to Bob and Kaido.
Hearing this, Kaido nodded, his eyes completely absorbed by the scene before him. Without even glancing at the man, he waved his hand, signaling him to leave. The man in green disappeared into the darkness, unnoticed in the night.
Watching the two figures and the large bag they carried, the man eyes flickered with a subtle change.
"Bob, how's this place? Not a bad choice, right?" Kaido, after taking in the scene for a while, finally turned to Bob and spoke.
"Not bad at all. This time, we've come to the right place," Bob replied with a smile. Looking at the scene before him, he knew he could finally indulge to his heart's content.
"So, what's next?" Kaido glanced at Bob, his leaving his sentence hanging, but the implication was clear.
"Don't rush. First, we need to tidy ourselves up a bit. Add a bit of class," Bob said, pointing to a barbershop by the street.
With that, he strode toward the shop, and Kaido quickly followed.
The barber, a man just over thirty, immediately put on a welcoming smile as the two entered.
"What kind of haircut would you like, gentlemen?" he asked.
Bob scanned the surroundings, then placed the bag aside and sat down on the chair. Looking at himself in the mirror, he said, "Give me a ten-billion-berry haircut!"
Hearing this, the barber was momentarily stunned. It seemed like the first time in his career he had received such a request. His professionalism told him that, based on this statement alone, he probably couldn't deliver such a haircut.
"Um... could you be more specific?" the barber asked.
Bob glanced at him, shook his head, and sighed. "Then just trim the sides a bit."
Bob had initially thought of getting a haircut that would show his wealthy persona. After all, in the future, he might not have much to do with his hair. But to his surprise, this shabby shop couldn't deliver. So, he resorted to the usual phrase he always used at barbershops.
"Alright," the barber replied with a smile, picking up his tools to begin the haircut.
Meanwhile, Kaido, who was beside Bob, was even faster. Under the hands of another barber, his haircut had already begun.
About ten minutes later, as the two barbers finished their work, Bob and Kaido stood up from their chairs.
The two exchanged a knowing glance and then offered an "objective" evaluation.
"Hmm, very handsome!"
The slightly hesitant compliments that came from their mouths fully illustrated the improvement in their appearance brought by the haircut.
After paying, the two left the barbershop, but that wasn't the end of it.
Under Bob lead, they entered a clothing store.
After browsing around, they spent three million Berries on two pieces of clothing.
"Damn! The clothes in this store are way too expensive!"
Kaido grumbled, the light blue coat he was wearing alone costing two million Berries.
"Well, it's made from the skin of a Sea King, so it's worth the price."
"Besides, it's not like you're the one paying!" Bob spoke indifferently.
In the world of one piece, Sea Kings are rarely caught and are difficult for ordinary people to kill, so all their "parts" are extremely rare in this world.
The skin of a Sea King, due to its toughness and wear-resistant properties, is top-tier material for making clothes and other garments, hence its exorbitant price.
But for Bob, whose net worth exceeds six billion, this was just pocket change.
Spending three million was merely a small indulgence for Bob, giving him a taste of the thrill of extravagance.
As they walked out of the clothing store, Bob wrapped himself in his black coat and said,
"Alright, now we can head to the entertainment district!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Bob strode towards the end of the street.
At that moment, with his keen perception, Bob noticed eight people in a corner of the street, their eyes occasionally glancing in his direction.
.....
"Are you sure the masked man is carrying a big bag full of money?"
Among the group, a man wielding a large machete, seemingly the leader, asked the man beside him.
"Yes! I saw it clearly!"
"I estimate there's at least tens of millions of Berries in that bag!"
The speaker, dressed in green, was the man who had greeted Bob and Kaido at the port.
He had noticed them as soon as Bob's luxurious sailboat approached the harbor.
A ship so luxuriously decorated must belong to wealthy people, and indeed, his assumption was correct.
"Hahaha! Tens of millions of Berries, boys, we're about to hit the jackpot!"
"Don't worry, once we get the money, I'll reward you handsomely!"
The machete-wielding man glanced at the green-clad man with a smile, but as he turned away, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
...
"It seems we've been targeted by some small fry."
Kaido, who was beside Bob, also noticed the eight people in the corner.
"Let's go! We'll deal with the small fry first!"
As they spoke, the two left the clothing store, but instead of heading towards the entertainment district, they walked towards a darker part of the street.
Sure enough.
As Bob and Kaido moved, the eight people followed suit.
"Just now, I was thinking it would be hard to make a move here, but these two idiots are actually giving us the perfect opportunity!"
"Don't be careless. That man who's over 6 meters tall doesn't seem like an easy opponent!"
"Damn it, what are we afraid of? With eight of us, even if we each take one swing, we can chop him into pieces!"
"Enough talking. Let's follow and get this done as quickly as possible!"
