Bianca's POV
"Mum, Dad, there's no way I'm buying into such ideas," I snapped angrily, rising to my feet, my heart racing wildly in my chest.
"Daughter, that is what you must do. We had no options left in such a critical situation. We had to save you first."
"But pledging my life to whoever donated the kidney? How faint-hearted are you two?" I roared, not fully comprehending the depth of the situation.
The air reeled in silence, heavy and suffocating, only broken by the loud thudding of my heartbeat.
"Daughter," Mum said, rising to hold my arms, "we had no other option. You know we always want the best for you," she reminded gently. I turned to meet her gaze.
"No more mum. You're wrong about that. No one wants the best for me." I spat the bitterness, inhaling sharply.
The air in my lungs felt poisonous, almost draining the life out of me as I swallowed the bitter truth that always stared me in the face.
