Chapter 44 - Chapter 44

"Ah… Naruto-dono…"

The young orange-haired girl turned pale at the sight of the bloody scene and instinctively hid behind Naruto.

Naruto, however, remained calm and shook his head.

"A massive fleet with thousands of pirates, and they couldn't even take out a gang of fishmen…"

Then again, it made sense. The Krieg Pirates only had a handful of decent fighters.

After Naruto had destroyed their flagship, most of the strong ones were gone, leaving only the dregs behind.

"Inferior humans… and you dare challenge us, the Arlong Pirates?"

At the center of the fishmen stood a towering, blue-skinned shark-like creature with a serrated nose and razor-sharp teeth—Arlong.

He glared at Naruto with bloodthirsty eyes.

"We fishmen possess ten times the strength of humans. We are a superior species in this world… you humans are simply ignorant of your place."

The other fishmen burst into laughter, mocking the blond boy and the orange-haired girl.

"Really pathetic, thinking that being a 'big shot' in East Blue means anything here."

"Hahaha, we came back from the Grand Line. We just didn't bother conquering more…"

"All that's left are two brats…"

Naruto smirked, unable to suppress a chuckle.

"Superior species, huh? What a joke."

The fishmen were stunned.

Naruto laughed harder.

"You call yourselves superior, yet you cower at the bottom of the sea? Can't even walk freely on land?"

"I remember… in Fishman Island, you lot are constantly captured and sold as slaves—no, even lower than slaves."

"In the Grand Line, in the New World, you grovel at the feet of humans, yet here you dare strut around in East Blue pretending to be superior. That's hilarious—utterly hilarious."

The Arlong base fell into a heavy silence.

Only Naruto's mocking laughter echoed through the blood-soaked air.

Young Nami stared wide-eyed in disbelief.

To her, the fishmen had always been monsters… but across the sea, they were apparently seen as pitiful, enslaved creatures?

Every fishman present had bloodshot eyes. Veins bulged from their foreheads, fury boiling inside.

If looks could kill, Naruto would've been shredded into pieces by now.

It's not lies that hurt most—

It's the truth.

Naruto's words ripped apart their illusion of superiority and revealed the wretched truth of their race.

"I'll tear you apart, you bastard!!!"

A furious stingray-like fishman lunged forward, roaring:

"Fishman Karate: 1,000-Watt Punch!!"

He hurled a powerful punch straight at Naruto's face.

Naruto's eyes flashed coldly.

He didn't move, didn't dodge—he simply stood in place and gathered chakra into his right hand.

"Rasengan!"

The swirling blue sphere collided with the fishman's fist.

The moment they touched—

The fishman's eyes bulged as he screamed in agony.

His arm twisted violently, turning into a corkscrew of mangled flesh.

Blood gushed like a fountain.

"AAAAHHHH!!"

The other fishmen were stunned.

"Croobi!!"

"No way!!"

"He's just a kid…"

"Wait—could it be true? The rumors say he has a 300 million bounty…"

Under their stunned gazes, Naruto stepped on the fallen fishman's chest, drew a kunai, and held it out to Nami.

"Nami, want revenge?"

The young girl stared blankly at the blade, then at the broken fishman beneath Naruto's foot.

Arlong's face darkened.

"Nami! Are you going to listen to this human? Don't forget your village! Come here now, or I'll kill everyone there!"

Fear surged in Nami's eyes. Her body trembled.

She remembered the day her mother died… she wanted revenge, but she feared for the villagers.

Just as she hesitated, she felt her hand being gently grasped.

Naruto took her hand, placed the kunai in it, and guided it to the fishman's heart.

Schlik!

Blood spurted.

It dyed both their arms red.

Nami stared in shock at the blood, then turned slowly to the golden-haired boy beside her.

Naruto smiled.

"See? These fishmen aren't anything special. Just weird-looking garbage."

"When you grow up and become strong, they won't dare touch you. They'll kneel at your feet and beg."

"Humans… are the true rulers of this world."

Tears welled up in Nami's eyes. Her emotions finally burst forth.

She nodded forcefully.

"Yeah!!! They're just trash!!"

"NAMI!!!"

Arlong let out a furious roar.

Watching one of his own die in front of him pushed him past his limit.

The other fishmen, filled with rage, charged toward Naruto.

They would tear that cursed blond kid apart.

"Heh."

Naruto chuckled. He raised his right hand and focused his chakra.

"Perfect—let's test my new technique."

His blue chakra gathered and mixed with wind nature transformation, forming a rapidly spinning, bladed sphere—

A Rasenshuriken.

The moment it touched the first fishman, it detonated—

Unleashing a range hundreds of times wider than normal.

Blue light engulfed the fishmen, triggering waves of agonized screams.

Blood dyed the spinning chakra red.

Countless microscopic wind blades acted like spectral scythes, flaying flesh from bone, slicing them thousands of times.

"…Oops. Overshot it a bit," Naruto muttered.

"The nature transformation isn't precise yet. The wind blades are too large—nothing like the cellular-scale ones in the original."

Still, what Naruto considered a failure…

To the fishmen, it was a nightmare far worse than death.

They screamed as their flesh was torn away piece by piece, pain so intense it drove them mad—yet they didn't die instantly.

Those hit were mutilated.

Those who weren't could only stand frozen, deathly pale.

Even Arlong stood dumbfounded, face ashen with terror.

He stared at Naruto in horror, trembling as he backed away.

"No… No way… Isn't East Blue supposed to be the weakest sea? How can a monster like you exist?!"

Naruto looked at him calmly.

"Then ask yourself—why is East Blue called the weakest sea?"

In the pirate world, "weakest sea" isn't an insult—

It's strength.

Because only East Blue is safe. Its pirates are tame. Its people… are free.

Arlong couldn't think anymore.

He reached into his pants with a trembling hand.

Naruto blinked, assuming he was pulling a weapon.

But instead—

Arlong pulled out… a Den Den Mushi.

Clutching the transponder snail with pale hands, he screamed:

"Jinbei!! Help me!! There's a monster here trying to kill me!!"
